Well, it's now hot enough to begin AC repair on the Geos. I have a 91 factory service manual, which I assume will also work for the 92. Any short cuts/watchouts that you experienced people can share? I tried the search function, but no luck (as far as I looked). I have some spare parts lying around, of uncertain operational ability.

What do you know that's wrong? What's the current condition?

Not to sound rude, but read extra info on the web. Get an auto AC service text book
(these give more detail than the Haynes).

Learn about: the different parts of the system, how the oil circulates and what the role it plays,
measuring charge by weight, the effects of altitude on measurements, bad effects of moisture in
the system (how the dryer works and wears out), all about the need to pull a deep vacuum in an
AC system, what a deep vacuum is, using a PROPER vacuum pump (oil stuff again), how to use
AC gauges etc.

Not to scare you off, it just come with the teritory if you want to do a proper repair. It's just a
new deal to learn that has little to do with fixing a car to run. It also may be that you only have
electrical problems such as a bad relay.

Give additional information as JellyBeanDriver asked. I think the 91 book will be good; I, and some other
have the 92 book. I don't think there was any change untill 1994.

Good luck and keep us posted.
