Although I liked Led Zeppelin, in the interest of full disclosure it should be pointed out that 90% of their songs were blatantly stolen from others. The only bigger thief was Elvis.

Yes they did cover and swipe a lot of songs. But once they did, they really turned them into something special. George Thurogood did the same too. Heck even the Beatles coverd other peoples music. Now others cover their songs.

I'm not talking about covering other people's songs. I'm talking about taking the entire song, changing the tune a little bit and making it more rock & roll, and putting their names on the songwriting credit with no mention of the original artist. http://arrt.blogspot.com/2007/06/led-zeppelin-thieves-or-genius.html

Interesting read. All the songs that were "copied" suck in comparison. "Dazed and Confused" by Jake Holmes is just plain annoying.

I don't remember what the name of the song is. It is by Gene Cruppa, and Benny Goodman. It starts with Gene just playing the hell out of the drums. A driving hard beat, the brass horns come in and it gets down. After awhile Beeny comes in with his clarinet. Its a really long song too. One of our friends a while back had asked about songs with a deep bass sound. This would qualify for that. Mr Cruppa could really rock. Even before there was Rock and Roll. My parents used do dance to this. Two steps for every beat. I am certain that one of our older friends here remembers the name of this song.
