General rule of thumb for Rob:

If someone has to incorporate their resume to back up some ridiculous claim, then they are probably full of shit.

Just because that dude worked for Nascar, doesn't mean he worked in the engine building or designing department. He might have just worked at the concession stand. Or maybe he just worked on another component of the car. Besides, if Nascar is so great, why don't they race in the rain? Why don't they turn right?

There are road courses in NASCAR. I don't know why people think they only turn left.

Right. There are 2 road courses in NASCAR. Most of the drivers suck at the road courses. Max Papis, JP Montoya and Boris Said generally kick ass on the road courses. Guess why.

Can you please explain to me why they don't run in the rain? Why they still use a solid rear axle? Why they still use Carburetors?

The point I am trying to make is that NASCAR has been taken over by money hungry corporate pimps. They use 30 year old technology and proclaim it to be revolutionary. Formula One and Indy Cars make more horsepower with less displacement and have since their inception. AND they race in the rain. There's nothing stock about a 'STOCK' car and there's nothing amazing about NASCAR technology. The only thing good about NASCAR is their marketing department. Ever been to a NASCAR race? Good luck getting in and out of there for less than 150 bucks. They advertise their brand of racing VERY well and they sell it VERY well.
NASCAR was started by a bunch of guys trying to make money. Nothing has changed in 60 years. Not even the technology.

SO, my point is, anyone who claims to be some sort of automotive expert, and backs it up with a resume that has NASCAR on it fails to impress me.

But that's just my opinion. You can 'Boogety, Boogety, Boogety' all you want.

Rob, That's exactly what I told him. It's alright though, I just used it as a learning experience, my first Geo head rebuild, and the money came out of his pocket i just offered to do it for him cause he knows about as much as a bat can see about cars.

The type of tracks they run on are not conducive to running in the rain, no track really is. They use carbs because they can, do they have to use FI? They're already plenty fast, most of the super-speedways they run restrictor plates because they are too fast... They use solid axles because they can. It's just a different type or racing, if you want to watch big V8 cars go fast around a road course, watch V8 supercars.

You're absolutely right. No track is conducive to driving fast in the rain. And if Dale Earnhardt Jr. can't do it, it just doesn't need to be done! Period!

Does the name Ayrton Senna ring a bell?

Ooh! ooh! over here teacher, I'll guess! Is it because they are real drivers who understand how to turn right, use the brakes, shift gears, and go up and down hills?

NASCAR is the professional wrestling of motor sports.

Brilliant finish to the season yesterday, I had about given up on my guy, but he pulled it off and won the championship!
