So, i'm in the midst of doing a tune up on my 90 Metro. I decide it's a good idea to switch out the fuel filter since i have no idea when the filter was last changed. I crawl under the car, locate the area where the fuel filter should be and find a rusting hunk of metal instead.

The rusted ball of metal is the old filter. Hell, might even be the original filter from 20 years back :smackface

Just had to take a side by side comparison photo of the old filter next to the new one to share with y'all.

enjoy:

Has your car lived its whole life down south? That looks more like something I'd find on my car.

Rooy, i know that the vehicle was in the Atlanta area from 2000 on, beyond that i have no idea where it called home. this vehicle is becoming an ongoing experiment for me.

this week it'll be on to changing the timing belt, water pump and a couple of seals. good times under the hood!
