Duct tape heals all wounds

CB, you know the things to look at and I'm pretty sure you know what you can and can not fix by this time. For 500. I would buy it provided the typical frame issues are not present and that the body, electrical, etc are all functioning regardless of engine condition if I were closer to it and did not currently own one.

Only you can tell if you should :dunno

See but already have a Geo...I can't justify having 2 that need possible engine rebuilds.

Does anyone know how I can do a compression test without the transmission?

couldn't you just bring a 17mm wrench with you and turn the camshaft gear nut?

At first I read that and thought, that would be hell with a ratchet. Did you mean with a ratchet or an impact wrench/drill?

either of those, I'm pretty sure a wrench would work. ratchet would probably make you life quite a bit easier.

I think you missed what i'm saying. You have to have the engine spinning a few hundred RPMs to get a good reading. so I would HAVE to use a drill or something...

wait, is the flywheel not there? cause if the fly wheel is bolted you could use the starter.

The starter mounts to the tranny/block IIRC. So w/o a transmission it can't connect.

Some say...

Do a leakdown test. You'll need an air compressor, or a large air pig, but there's no need to turn over the engine.

Acceptable numbers/change for said leakdown test?
