Haynes has it in chapter 2 part b as 26 foot pounds for all models. Only two pistons? Did you crack a piston or something? . Edited by Memphis metro, Jun 26 2010, 11:18 AM.

that's why... fortunately it didn't scar the cyl wall.. I doubble checked it with a mic. So I'm just waiting on a piston... fortunately dad was helping me rebuild and is letting me use his truck untill the piston comes in... I'm low on cash so I can't aford to get another oneJOHNNY remember when my car was acting funny and I didn't know why about a year ago? Evadently my timeing was off a tooth on the cam and this is the dammage it did. Allong with the blown headgasket and the reason why I was still getting blow by... my old head had both valves burnt in #3 hole and the exaust valve burnt in #2.. both of the other pistons are good so where good to go... I still have no clue why the block wasn't scared it really dosent add up but it wasn't and I'm thankfull for it. |

Hey P man. If you are going used with the replacement piston. Thats okay. But if you are going new. Replace all three. I you are gonna go for one new. You might as well put all of them in new. Those used ones have the same amount of miles on them as the failed one.

true murf but funds are extreemely tight right now and a 35 dollar fix is better than a $120 fix.... like i said i know why it all happened... the engine only has 50,000 miles on it and the other pistons once they cleaned up had no wear on them... i accedently had my cam timeing off a tooth for a little while and along with the egr cloging up and the valves burning it put a lot of stress on the engine and just blew a hole in the #3 piston. by time i moved the belt the damage had already been done and over time just wore the piston out creating a chunk to just let go of it.... like i said im tight on funds... later on im going to bore and stroke the engine and maybey get some high compression pistons... i just need to get on my feet right now. like i said the others look good, and i do wish i could get a set of pistons but i just cant swing it. and right now im without a vehicle cuz dad can only let me use the truck for this week.
