Bought this 95 a couple of days ago and found the forums while exploring. She runs great, shifts great, idles smooth and quiet. 138,000 miles. There's a belt whine that sometimes happens upon start up, lasts several seconds and then stops when the car is started cold. After reading around here, I think I know what to do to fix that--I think.

Other than that, the only other issues she has is 1) the temp gauge does not function and 2) the rear brake light--the one mounted to the hatch--doesn't light.

I'm also in the process of trading a 98 Land Rover Discovery for a 97 Metro LSi. The Land Rover belongs to a friend who hates it, so we'll see how that goes.

Welcome aboard! You came to the right place.
I found some rust that I missed while looking the car over before buying. To tell the truth though, the little I know about cars, the rust isn't half way through the metal and it still feels stable...so I probably would have bought it anyway. I wanted a while Geo, and when I saw this for sale, I'm pretty sure I had decided to buy it before I even laid eyes on it.

Heh, thats ok. Now, depending on where the rust is located would depend on how fast I paid attention to it. If its a front frame horn and its visible, I would suggest fixing it yesterday. If its a door sill or a body panel, not so much. But that is a sharp lookin ride, much like what I was looking for myself when I was shopping for one :thumb
