Well i didn't plan on doing this so early but has me and a "friend" where doing some sea-foam maintenance on my car he dropped a FUCKING bolt from my modded air filter into my carb. (no fucking clue why he even took that bolt off, all he needed was to unlatch the damn thing) CLICK CLANK CLICKITY CLANKITY = time to rebuild. i will be buying a rebuilt head off Ebay. would love to get 3tech's but i dont have the funds and need my car fixed. so hopefully one from Ebay is perfectly fine i think im going to buy a ring/piston set from P.D. might aswell put in a new clutch ey? hopefully i can take everything electrical/hose based off the engine today (and REMEMBER WHERE they go BACK) anyone have any suggestions to how i can take the electrical and hoses off and mark them how to put them back? Masking tape with Numbers/Letters. Take hose, tape connector. Write same number on both. Repeat. Edited by Coche Blanco, Jul 6 2010, 05:00 PM.

cars these days have electrical connectors that are all different. Just about every plug on your engine should be different so you cant mix the plugs up. As for hoses i used a white paint pen and marked my hoses on each end. Also take pics so you know how to route the hoses and wires. |

don't buy a head till you have the engine taken apart? assess the damage before assuming that it broke lol. once you have the head off you'll be able to see what got damaged. Sorry to hear about the bolt dropping, but hey atleast your making the best of it. I know you guys have some pick n pull yards down in so cal??? it would be way cheaper than buying a head off of ebay?? well atleast imo. Keep us posted. and have fun |

i will be a "rebuilt" head off ebay, because i dont have the time to rebuild one myself. and i think it would cost much more. i took my head off yesterday, and my piston is straight "shattered" scared the cylinder wall, dont know if i should get it bored, cause i dont know if i can get oversized pistons? to do list. *buy new head. *take block to shop?(can anyone give me a est. on price for fixing my block) *buy full gasket set. *new pumps |
