The Ever Elusive "Intake Grounds"

I've stalked these beasts for 3 months now. I have hidden in trees, ran through deserts, and crossed oceans to catch a glimpse of these elusive creatures. I have tried everything, i put female "Intake Grounds" urine on my boots, I have two 0 gauge wires that I bash together to try to simulate two male "Intake Grounds" fighting for Alpha Male status. I've gone as far as sleeping outside in a "Suzuki Swift" style tent in hopes that the "Intake Grounds" will come out of hiding and show themselves. All of my efforts have been futile. My journey has been a tiresome one, but I am not giving up. I come to you, GeoMetroForum.com, for one simple reason. I need a picture of the "Intake Grounds" and i'm not going to leave without one.

Give me 10 minutes. I'll have a couple pictures for you. Oddly enough, 1994 Metros actually have 3!

Here it is. I was going to show you the ground locations on the 94 I've been working on, but instead I grabbed a spare manifold with everything on it that was out of a 93 to show you. Here it is, sitting on top of the engine in the 94:

Nice picture slander-

The other picture I remember being shared on the forum was a good picture, but was very hard to "place". This one gives a very good perspective. Thank you.

Not to confuse anyone... in the picture above the Air Cleaner goes on top of the Throttle Body when installed. :lol

Nice pic, slander. :thumb

Other than ECU stuff, what else uses this point for ground?
(instrument gauges?)

Fuel pump won't run without it for one.

Sir, yes sir!

Yup. Without the ECU ground you won't have fuel or spark. Many a dead engine after a swap can be attributed to that ground. Often over looked and sometimes confused with the starter wiring.

Got 70 MPG?

I've also got a very clear pic of that ground in my "How To Pull a G10" thread. :thumb

With a good ground there everything in your life will be beautiful. With no ground there, nothing will work. Tricky bit is this: with a poor, or partial ground, any number of weird, intermittent symptoms may occur.

While installing my MPGuino yesterday I looked up what is connected to that grounding point in the factory service manual. It's only used by the ECU, no other devices use it as a ground point (so the gauges don't use that point).

I've got a mildly annoying gauge problem where my fuel level will oscillate occasionally and SLOWLY by 3/8 of a tank.
