Rims are the same color as the blue that was used. The rest of the red is going to be the same color blue when weather allows.

People point and laugh all the time b/c of the bass and the colors. But I loves my car. I figure if im going to have a small car that people laugh at anyway I might as well have some fun!

Ok, so after a bit of debate we've decided on the entire color scheme.

Hood Black.
Top of the car down to the stock pin stripes is going to be that light blue.
stock pin stripes will be removed
Under that Im going to be painting everything purple. Havent decided on a shade, but its gonna be purple. It will really bring in the interrior which has purple neon and black everythinig else lol.
A fat bright white stripe will go down the length of the car to bring all the colors together.
Rims are going to be that blue, with bright white "moons" as someone already suggested. I like the no hubcap look, but im going to look into the pizza pan route. anyone have any how to's on this? I'd be really interest in how to attach them. I was thinking about just drilling a four bolt pattern and tightening them on with the lug nuts. Any ideas?

The finial and most fun part of the car will be the vinyls. I am going to be getting some Squirtle vinyls. If I cant find one big enough I'm going to go ahead and air brush it myself. (not too hard, just tedious)

Well thats the plan. Weather here is still to humid for painting :(

I don't care if some folks are making fun of you Brian, I like your perserverance. It takes a man with big ba..s to do a paint job with a rattle can. My hat is off to you. I would like some closeup pics of the final result with a clear coat.

On a related note, how long will this paint job last? Will it fade after a few months or will it hold up through mother natures rath?

Once again, Great job, Brian

there are many videos on youtube on this, I did a saturn wagon with 6 cans of Krylon, did a wet sand with 2000 grit and a good polishing compound then buffed it out, looked s good as the Macco job my neighbor got for $349, mine cost $37 total :)

@dayle1960 (its BrYan plz) : Well Ive painted a Scooter that has sat out in the weather for the last 8 months with no paint problems. ( I need a starter to get it going ) And ive painted a lot of stuff with this paint that has just lasted well. The hood has been painted for about 4 months with just flat black rustolium and no clear coat and it was in great shape apart from the window chauk scars.

@beachbummm - We are getting the rustolium bottles with an advertised 33% more paint in them for the same price as the regular paint. Its costing me 3.78 per bottle and I bought a total of 8 bottles. We are going for the better safe than sorry as far as doing a few extra coats.

As for how long it lasts, I had a truck (not the current one) that I painted with rattle cans and used as a construction vehicle, long runs / heavy loads / crappy roads. The paint job lasted the 6 years I owned the truck (from 80k ->240k miles) and at least 2 more years with the person that bought it after.

Rustoleum is good stuff, and its hard once set completely. The $50 paintjob uses the canadian version of rustoleum. It holds up very well.

Buckets Lights are painted White.
Pannel between Tail lights are white.
Tail lights are sanded and ready for tinting.
Hood needs one last layer of black then stripe.
Rest of body is Blue except under the rubber lines going down the car.
Under the lines on the right will be painted white soon, the left side is already done.

The line is going to start small then "V" wider till its the same size as the middle pannel on the back. From there it will go up and over the car and then pass through the middle pannel at the same size. This will allow the pannel to blend in with the stripe instead of cutting it off.

Cars looking great!
Squirtle Warturtle & Blastroise pokemon stickers are ordered.

For now I'm content with the vynal stickers...but I still think I want to do custom air brush work on it. Maybe add some lighter blue to make waves or something.

I was waiting for the white to dry and to be back over at my moms to take any pics. I should have a few up by midnight or one.

More like a guy with a thin wallet.
When all is said and done it will look like a car painted with spray cans.
From afar it will look nice. A bit gaudy maybe.

Did you consider renting a paint booth? Making one in your garage?

I just googled that turtle thing.
You are kidding about that turtle being painted on the car, right?
