I don't care if some folks are making fun of you Brian, I like your perserverance. It takes a man with big ba..s to do a paint job with a rattle can.
More like a guy with a thin wallet.
When all is said and done it will look like a car painted with spray cans.
From afar it will look nice. A bit gaudy maybe.

Did you consider renting a paint booth? Making one in your garage?

I just googled that turtle thing.
You are kidding about that turtle being painted on the car, right?
No I'm not kidding, and the paint came out very smooth. One shinney spot, but one of the stickers can cover it up.

Dont be hating on the turtle or my spay can job.

The hood still needs another coat due to some spray over, but that shouldnt take too long. Then all thats left is the lights and the stripe :)

Mr. GhostRider, I think that you're doing a fabulous job! :thumb Amazing what a little hardcore ingenuity and imagination can do. I'm trying to visualize what a White Roof with White Wheels would look like. Ever think of that? Kind of Mini Cooper style. Might really set it off nice!

You do realize that you need to take my comments with a grain of salt. :D I'm the one with the SkyCamo Geo. :lol Final pics coming soon to the Heart Transplant Project thread.................................... :popcorn

I'm starting to appreciate the overall color scheme. Still not digging painting the rims though. Get some hubbies.

I'm trying to find some cheap rims.

have have 2 geo ones that match and then 1 other geo one that doesnt. Getting new ones is in the making, just not right now.

I thought about a white hood for a long long time, but in the end went with the blue. The sky cama looks great!

I'm about to head to my moms to tint the lights and then take her for a spin. :)

Sure here ya go.

Step one access what kind of car it is and go to your local autozone or orilleys.

Step two tell them the color and what make and model the car is. Chances are they will have the color in a spray can, and some touch up paint that comes packaged like nail polish. Make sure they match by taking something with you that you can spray and hold next to the car. I suggest something of the same material...but thats just me.

Step three get some automotive wet sand paper. The guys at the auto store should know what to hook ya up with.

Step four sand down the fender and use a good amount of water. Sand away the clear coat and any scratches. Make sure the car is smooth.

Step five tape off everything except the fender. This includes windows and lights and everything. There will be some spray back so plan on it. If your wheels are close to it cover them. I dont mind getting a bit of paint on the the rubber b/c it wears off...but watch for the rims.

Step six let it dry in a garage. Connect a bug zapper near by. This will keep the bugs off the car. If you want to you could set up a paint booth, but make sure to have a fan circulating the air so you dont kill all of your brain cells.

Step seven Keep letting it dry. No dont touch it just wait.

Step eight is it actually dry yet? Has the paint hardened? Good, now take all of that tape and paper off of the car and inspect your work.

Step nine does it all match? If not then repaint. You might need a second coat, or your might need to get a lighter/darker color. As its spray paint this doesnt cost too much. Just be sure to sand it again before your next coat. You want everything smooth.

Step ten re tape everything and add 2 coats of clear coat. This is just to protect it. go slow so it doesnt look all cloudy. You want the layers to be really thin.

Step eleven let it all dry out then take it for a spin. Youve done a good job, why not reward yourself with a tasty ice cream from Sonic?
