I have a 92 Geo Metro. Just started doing this. Sometimes but most times now you put the brakes on and it goes to the floor then you have to pump several times and you have brakes. Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't. Other times you have brake then it goes to the floor. It is a automatic with 142,000 miles on it. Is it the master cylinder? No brake fluid leaks and it is full of fluid. |

You're absolutely sure of no leaks or fluid loss? The rear wheel cylinders can leak for a while before you notice anything. You might want to pull the rear drums and inspect. It could be the master. With the car stationary (running or not), press the brake pedal firmly and hold pressure on it. It should not drop. If you feel it slowly going down, then it's probably the master if you absolutely have no other leaks. |
