What about something in the LA area? Lots of stuff to do, good food everywhere. Or perhaps the Antelope Valley (north LA county)...seems to be lots of Geo Metros still running around here...
hey joe i moved from lancaster in 2006...my mom still lives there in palmdale...what part yr from? it would be nice in the a.v. since theres alot of members down there that didnt have a chance to come up to reno...if only i can trust my car to make it there n back id go there to visit my mom and check out any geo meeting... :news
I live in Lancaster, near K and Division. Just north of Okie Flats. The Geo came from Palmdale, where it used to be a Barbershop sign on Palmdale Blvd. Bought it three years ago and fixed it up a little (a little Wal-Mart spray paint over the word "Barbershop" down each side, and some mechanical work to make it fairly safe an dependable) to drive to/from work daily in Tehachapi. (It was getting to expensive to drive the Town Car or the Eldo).
OMGOSH i think i remembered seeing that geo...how cool is that!!!was the shop closer to the freeway area, not by it but towards that part of town??

It was in the shopping center at 20th St. East and Palmdale Bl. North East corner. Carl's Jr. on the corner.

Yep, the Chinese Buffet. Ate there today for the first time in years...actually fairly decent. Wish it had a Mongolian BBQ like the one in Lancaster...every now and then I go down to the Mongolian BBQ at Rosemead and Colorado in Pasadena.

I've spent a lot of time in that part of the world...lived in Montrose as a child, then later when I worked in that part of the world. Used to know several people that worked at the Rialto theater in So. Pasadena, was able to get in free all the time and got to watch movies from either the balcony or the projection booth. Remember smog being so bad when I was a kid (the '60s) that I couldn't breathe after about an hour of playing.

That was back in the day before any real smog control on any but the newest cars. My first car didn't even have a PCV valve! The air quality in the LA area has really improved since then!

In 1958 my parents moved from south San Gabriel, CA (5 mi SE of Pasadena) to Costa Mesa in Orange County - because the smog was so bad it affected my lungs. I was 3 years old. Not withstanding, Mom smoked cigarettes all the time. :smackface

Yeah my mom was a smoker too. So I had really bad asthma when I was growing up. They used to treat it with shots of adrenaline. For road trips or when we were sick she used to give us Bismith of Paragoric. IE Opium. No wonder I grew up to be a thrill seeker, and a slave to my vices. LOL
