Yep, the Chinese Buffet. Ate there today for the first time in years...actually fairly decent. Wish it had a Mongolian BBQ like the one in Lancaster...every now and then I go down to the Mongolian BBQ at Rosemead and Colorado in Pasadena. |

I've spent a lot of time in that part of the world...lived in Montrose as a child, then later when I worked in that part of the world. Used to know several people that worked at the Rialto theater in So. Pasadena, was able to get in free all the time and got to watch movies from either the balcony or the projection booth. Remember smog being so bad when I was a kid (the '60s) that I couldn't breathe after about an hour of playing. |

That was back in the day before any real smog control on any but the newest cars. My first car didn't even have a PCV valve! The air quality in the LA area has really improved since then! |

In 1958 my parents moved from south San Gabriel, CA (5 mi SE of Pasadena) to Costa Mesa in Orange County - because the smog was so bad it affected my lungs. I was 3 years old. Not withstanding, Mom smoked cigarettes all the time.

Yeah my mom was a smoker too. So I had really bad asthma when I was growing up. They used to treat it with shots of adrenaline. For road trips or when we were sick she used to give us Bismith of Paragoric. IE Opium. No wonder I grew up to be a thrill seeker, and a slave to my vices. LOL |
