I do not believe I have ever had a decent set of tires for my Geo until today. First of all good luck find a decent set of tires in the original 155/80R-13 spec, they are just not available. However changing to the tire size to 175/70R-13 some good options come in to play such as the Pirelli Cinturato P5, an 85,000 mile tire for just $50 at Discount Tire which I purchased today. The Speedometer will be within 1/2 a mph at 65mph so nothing to worry about there. The steering and roll-ability of the car increased dramatically. Do your self a favor the next set of tires, move up to 175/70-13s, you'll be glad you did. |

Yup. I installed 175/70R13 Falken tires on my 2000 and the ride and handling is great compared to the 155s. |

I have a 93 (OEM is 145/80/12) and I have 155/80/13's on it and will be moving to 175's when I need new tires. I don't know how people ride on 145s... |

I'm with you there CB, they scared me to death. Now that I know what it's like to be able to stop, I could never go back. |

you know the fix for that, don't you? a trip to the junkyard to rob parts from a 95 up or a vert. just pull the whole assembly, breaking the knuckles off the ball joints and pulling the 2 bolts out of the strut mount for the fronts. pop the axles and brake hoses and run away with the lumps. take the rear drums for the 12mm wheel studs and 13" rims will fit on all 4 axles. you get all the benefits - improved braking with ventilated rotors on the front, easier brake jobs with the rotor over hub design, and stronger wheel studs and lug nutz. |
