Gotta be soon. I'm ready to park "Bullet" for the winter. Hey Potter, I started some very minor body work. I'm such a novice but it's fun. I welded a metal bridge in the antenna 'hole' to support subsequent bondo. I've been sanding it down...then I'll prime. Lots of dust!

2 suggestions:

1) It's more of a Delaware thing and some of us might be outclassed, but here is are some interesting links.
The event is on October 2nd.

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&biw=1405&bih=789&q=georgetown+md&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Georgetown,+Maryland&gl=us&ei=Lj6dTJLIMIGKlwfWt5mPCg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQ8gEwAA

2) Harpers Ferry, WV (right next to MD). Park at visitor center, take shuttle bus to town (pretty sure it is free), site see. There is no place to BBQ. No fires are allowed. Chow alternatives would be bringing own lunch, local shops in Harpers Ferry, or descending on a local restaurant Dutch treat. There will be a battle re-enactment on Oct. 30-31 including an artillery demonstration (like a 3 banger with open headers).

I am partial to Harpers Ferry.
Plenty of parking at the visitors center, beautiful light hiking, interesting town, re-enactment, tons of places to eat and plenty of logistical support in nearby Charles Town (NOT CHARLESTON).
Oct. 30-31 is pleasant weather and plenty of lead time.

So, why a Metro thing.
Well, a bunch of Metros in a remote parking lot is OK, I guess.
A bunch of Metros in Charles Town is OK too.
Though not a crowd pleaser, we could case out the area for future events and venues, jump in next year, and maybe raise a few dollars for some local charity for the sake of having a purpose for all of this and encouraging local support. Perhaps the local horse track would let us have a show there next year.
Metros aren't exactly classics, but let's face it, they are indeed curiosities with their 3 cyl. motors.

If there is enough support, I'll research the track for a show next year.

You're talking about the wrong track. If I go to Charles Town, I'm going to Summit Point, not the horse track or Harpers Ferry. http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

Well there ya go.
I did not know of that track.
Not too far away either.

Probably too late to get the Metros involved this year but there are some events to watch that weekend.
Would be fun to crash that party.

Could start a Metro feature for next year?
Gentleman racing only.
I don't want to bang up my daily driver. It's my only way to work.

I prefer the short tracks.
I am currently out cornering everything on the turnpike exit ramps.
Got it to the point where it's as close to drifting as you can get without attracting the attention of the troopers.
