My 92 metro as keys broken off in both doors.

How difficult is it to replace the locks?

Thanks

I just did this! It's incredibly easier. Basically, you take the interior of the door off. You remove the door handle. Take a old shirt or rag and put it behind the window crank and wiggle it back and forth and rotate it around a few times and that should remove the retaining clip and the window crank will come off. You should put a piece of cardboard or something under you when you do that so its easier to find the clip when it drops. Then you just pry around the sides and the bottom to pop the trim off. The top of the trip is hooked over the edge of the door so just pull it up over that and then the trim will come off (after you move it around the seatbelt). Pull the weather sealing plastic back. There is a small yellow clip holding the rod to the lock. Just unclip the yellow thing from the rod and the rod should slide out of the lock. Then there is a clip holding the lock in place in the back. You can usually get this off wit a screw driver and needle nose pliers. Just be careful not to drop it down in the door, it'd be a bear to get it back out. After you get that off, the lock should pull straight out and you can put the new one in. Install in the reverse of removal!

it's cheaper to get the broken part out and have a key made if necessary
