Marijuana vs. Alcohol; Alcohol is fine, pot is not.

I, too, am a Washingtonian and I voted NOT to pass this legislation. Not because of whether pot should be legal or not, but because of all the legal and govenment intrusions/manipulation/interferance. Most of the people who wanted this legislation passed never got past "MJ legal" to read the complete consequences of passing this.

just as an example: they say the government will get over 1/2 billion in taxes the first year.----I say where is that monies coming from? LEGAL MJ will be so expensive that 'blackmarket' dealers will sell more than ever before.

Kinda glad they passed it tho. Now I can legally enjoy a 'joint' every once in a while just as I have been enjoying a mixed drink.........

but let's face it,most everyone who smokes does so on a regular basis and are constantly high. [from the time their feet hit the ground in the morning until they go to bed at night.]
Seriously?
You are ill-informed or just do not have a clue.
Would you say the same thing about people that drink alcohol? Do most of them drink from sunup to sundown? Are they constantly drunk?
No, most are not.

i know very few people who are constant pot smokers and i know a LOT of pot smokers. personally i might smoke once every few months.

The benifit of having it legal is you can buy from your local usual guy (illegal) and if you get caught carrying it you just say it was bought. How long till your local guy starts packaging them in the same containers to make it look legit? Well the dumb street vendors wont but the smart guys will. Id rather it be legal and pay some extra taxes on it then have it be illegal and go to jail for having it. Plus you cant expect the uptight anti weed people to "taint" the country with it, without getting money out of it can you?

--

Personally I drink and use MJ.

When drunk I chill. When high I chill. Never (or ever will) driven while under either. Usually just sit at home or at friends trying to relax.

So whats the difference? The smoke element is where most people get put off (cancer etc), but I cook with it! My friends cant smoke to save their lives so instead of throwing away good smokables I bake it into cookies, or a stir fry.

just seems like people always have to try to take the fun outta life...

I think it's wrong that your company can fire you for doing something that is perfectly legal, on your own time, that doesn't affect your work performance

Big Picture: How can you have a company policy AGAINST something that is perfectly legal? Seems like an open door to a wrongful termination lawsuit to me.

I agree. :gp
I can already see the lawsuits starting up over it too...
Employers have long been able to fire a person for showing up to work drunk, or under the influence of any other OTC medication. Read your contract. Personally, I would not want an airline pilot flying me to Denver after getting totally smoked out the night before.

It is my understanding that you can still be under the influence, in some physical/mental sense, after the "high" wears off.
Yes it lasts after the fact. Its one of the reasons its being looked at as an replacement for anti depressents. You go home chill and let the stress melt off and then you get an afterglow for the next day.

I haven't found it to impact me other than just a mood elevator and a confidence booster. Ive got an anxiety disorder and w.o. it I have small episodes throughout the day and maybe one bigger one every week or two. Ive tried all sorts of meds prescribed by my doctor for it. All of them had weird side affects, the most annoying being that my problem solving skills just seemed to disappear. I was "happy" or appeared to be, but I couldn't figure out anything to do with math. 2 years later after trying pot and its not an issue. Doctor has commented that I seem better and i dont take any meds for it.

back to the orig. post, I think you should be held accountable for when you smoke. This would mean adjusting your contracts, but I dont think it would be too hard to adapt.

I actually don't smoke/do pot, so I'm not sure how that was supposed to help me...now that I think about it.

add to butter and simmer at 213F for a few hours then mix in with anything.

above 392 and youve destroyed the thc. I like to keep it lower and just let it go for hours to get potent. Some ppl strain it through a cheese cloth, but eh for what i make the texture isnt a problem.

At what point does this start breaking geoform rules?

Yes,OK, not everybody in the whole world smokes everyday. Back when weed was $10.00 an oz and plentiful, that's what was done. When and if the fed lets the grow operation begin and it is readily available anytime you want. Then we will talk again. Granted,is was a weaker product back then but the urge to have the satisfaction is too much for "SOME". High cost will hold some peopler back until the weekend but rest assure that the casual smoker will fire one up as soon as he or she gets home from work. Reality is what it is. I can't even believe you brought alcohol into the picture as a comparison. :stoner
