Sooooooo,
I get home from work last night,
And find,
My daughter has made Chicken Fried Pork Chops.
Man I love pork chops.
I love anything Chicken Fried.
I take the risk.
Slowly I eat one of the smaller pieces.
Schultz - 1
Pork Chop - 0

This morning, one for breakfast,
Schultz - 2
Pork Chops - 0

Now,
I ask you,
Why can I eat a pork chop, and not a small piece of beef?
Don't say something about the stringiness or density of beef. I can not eat ground beef either.
I can not eat a chicken breast, but I can handle a pork chop. ?WTF?
I have had sausage a few times in the morning.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I eat a lot of eggs, but some days they bite right back.
I can't tell you what the difference is.
I don't know myself until I try to eat for the day.
Well that is all I got for now.

215# this a.m.
Update;
70# less than August 11, the week before surgery.
140# less than August 2006, when my doctor and I decided it was time to get serious.

Got stuck at 218# for the longest time.
I was starting to be depressed about having hit a plateau.
I know that plateaus are a normal occurrence during weight loss.
I know that sometimes you can plateau for several weeks.
I know all this, but still I get sour feelings over it. (poor, poor pitiful me, Boo F-cking Hoo)

Well, Thanksgiving is over.
I over ate, as did 99.9% of the country.
I paid for it, they didn't.
I learned;
-I like corn pudding. I probably should have realized that, I like grits and corn bread and corn pone and spoon bread and just about anything corn, I've been known to pull an ear off the stalk and eat it in the field.
-I do not like any version of sugar free Pecan Pie that we made. (so I had a bite of 'real' Pecan Pie, just a bite, even at that I could feel the sugar churning in my gut)
-I did like the sugar free Pumpkin Pie.
-I knew I couldn't handle stringy green veggies, so,
we made Green Pea Casserole instead, same recipe, substitute peas for green beans. Will have to cut back on the onions next time though.
-I have become sensitive to onions. That sux, I love onions. I may be the only person I know who will eat an onion sandwich. (bread, Miracle Whip, big ole slice 'O' onion, Mm Mm good)
-I can do dark meat turkey, maybe I will try a chicken leg soon.
Couldn't handle white meat. Is it the texture of the meat, or the difference in type of muscle tissue. White meat is fast twitch muscle and dark meat is slow twitch muscle. Hmm, have to ask the Doc. about that.
-I can't do stuffing. I knew that but had to try some anyway.
-We will have to teach the women folk how to cook for us light eating folk. There is way too much food still leftover in this house. We couldn't have eaten a 22# bird under normal circumstances, WTF were they thinking? Some of you are going to come help us eat it, right?
-I like excessive amounts of salt now. I use to stay away from salt, it would actually make me sick if I could taste it in the food. Now I find myself looking for it. I have bought different kinds of salt. We now have, in the house; regular Morton salt, kosher salt, a salt grinder with big crystals in it, sea salt and some red stuff from the middle east. Who'd a thunk it?
-Crab cakes are the bomb. Who make crab cakes for Thanksgiving? I had those on Saturday when we went out for my daughters birthday.
-Salad made with lots of fruit and very little greens is O.K.
-Salad that is mostly greens is bad, real bad, really really bad, don't do that you idiot bad.

I chose, two weeks ago, to start adding carbs to my diet.
A little at a time.
I have now, in my house, whole wheat tortillas, and whole wheat crackers.
They (the docs) tell you that you have to get some carbs after a while.
I like the tortilla thing. I was making a quick snack from a rolled up slice of cheese and a slice of ham with a stripe of mustard on it. Now I roll it into my half tortilla. I find myself eating less of it and giving the last bite(s) to the dog.
I can eat 3 crackers or half a tortilla before my stomach hurts.
That does not bother me. I would not have any at all if I didn't feel it was a necessary evil. I just won't live on bread like I used to.
So I take 2 ounces of cheese cubes and 4 ounces of grapes (or other fruit) and 6 crackers and lots of fluid for my lunch at work.
Eat half at dinner and the other half between 9:30 and 10:00 when I take my last break.

That's enough for now,
Happy Hanukkah every one.

Dude... i thaught you went to church??? LOL

well it was good that you got to try more food,

good to hear the 215

keep it up mon

i know all about plateaus.
im young. and have more metabolisim (or how ever you spell it) than i know what to do with

ive been at the 150-158 mark for the past..... well since i was a junior in high school witch makes that about.... 5 years almost? i didnt try to start getting bigger till halfway thru my seinor year and figgured out that i was only getting my body more strong not more big... i worked out and went from 150 to 155 by the time i graduated. the most i ever got to was 6 months later when i was working for a contractor... i was pushing my streingth every day and got up to 158. i was able to pick up 2 100 lbs bags of feed and walk to the feed room in the barn and put them in the bins no problem... i could squat those bags in a 10 rep set and have my kenes get tired.

Then
went to college
Packed 4 years of partying into 9 months
got lazy
drank MASSIVE ammounts of Beer and the hard stuff
and all my streingth just started fading... i can still pick up 2 100 lb bags of feed, walking with it.... thats kinda tricky now and im back down to 155 but just have a little more baggage.

ill try again when i start makeing some real money and am able to afford getting on a regimin with whey protien, creitene monohydrate, and that wheight gain crap they sell at GNC

id like to be a stout 180... but dont think it will happen

UNLESS. i quit my job and join the Navy.

keep getin it man im pullin for ya :thumb

(their are a TON of spelling errors in this post.... and i dont care :rasp )

Way to go. I wish I could keep pace. I seem to hover between 305 and 290. Many times when I visit Metroschultz I am in the loosing phase and am always pulling my pants up.

PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!

Both he and his wife have made wonderful progress. I am surprised each time I visit. I know my no sugar diet is tough as is. No sweet stuff, no fries or chips, but sandwiches are ok. I love chicken philly sandwiches rather I made my own or get a wawa one and they seem to give me the munchies. Looks like I got to cross them off my list. Still at times I crave meat and or protein. I am switching to the koshi cereal that is suppose to have enough protein as an egg.

We had an interesting conversation about beer one day after his surgery. I do not remember if Metroschult said it was the temperature or the carbonation that made it hard for him to drink it. I either offered to warm it up or shake it up or something. Basically, I offered to make him some flat warm beer. I do not remember his exact words, but I ended up called an a-hole. Man, that was funny or something you needed to witness.

Aw shux, I didn't know you guys cared that much.

!!And Now for the Weekend Update!!

205# this a.m.
80# down from Aug.11, 2010

So far so good.
I ate fried chicken last weekend.
One leg at lunch, then the thigh ate around 2:30.
No problemo.
I figured out that when I eat fast I am more likely to get pain.
It took me around 20 minutes to eat the chicken leg and 30 or so for the thigh.
I was having a lot of trouble eating at work so I stopped taking any solid food at all.
That's not good.
I wondered why I did O.K. at home but not at work.
Difference,
Time.
Home - I take a bite, watch cartoons with 10 year old, take another, put in some laundry, another, drain the oil, and so on.
I didn't notice the time separation because I kept busy.
At work I get 30 minutes to eat and was trying to get my nutrition quickly.
So I talked to my boss, he will allow me to take my early 15 minute, and late 15 minute, and split my lunch into two 15 minute breaks, and use these for eating. I still hit the clock at the same times. So in this way I can eat when I sit down then again before I get up. go back to work. Come and eat agin.
I will see if I can get some solid food down at work next week.
My daughter is making chili today.
I can't do beef. :(
So - we bought ground turkey to use as the meat for the chili.
I have no trouble with beans yet.
This will surely put beans to the test.
Gas? you ask.
I have had such a problem with gastrointestinal inflation since surgery, I may be the countries answer to the fuel crisis. :lol
reminds me of a joke;
Elderly lady goes to doctor and complains,
"Doc, I've had a problem with gas recently. Thankfully my farts have been quiet and odorless."
Doctor gives her some pills and says,
"Take these for a week and come back to see me."
She goes back and tells the Doc,
"My gas hasn't gotten any better and now it smells like rotten eggs"
Doc says,
"Good, now we got your nose cleared up, lets work on your hearing."

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

I feel real good these days.
I have energy you wouldn't believe.
I walk all the time, places I would've jumped in the car to head out for.
Convenience store 2 blocks away, Grocery store 3/4 mile away, restaurant 1 1/2 mile away. O.K. you caught me, I didn't walk to the restaurant. My wife pitched a fit, so we drove. Next time she says we'll walk.

When I take the dog out in the a.m. We jog a little bit of the way. She loves it, She has extremely long legs, as dogs go, and this is good fun/exercise for her.
I still want to do the marathon next summer.
So I need to build my stamina for the event.

I wanted Ice Cream last night. Before I would just grab some. Now I think about it long and hard and decided it wasn't worth the pain.
I watched my wife writhe in pain for 5 hours, the day she decided to eat an ice cream cone from Dairy Queen. She really enjoyed the ice cream, but when she finally recovered, she made me promise to never, ever, buy her ice cream again.
I did have a peanut butter cookie when my daughter made them last week.
Put me down for 2 hours.
Totally worth it.
Will I do it again?
Yeah, probably.
Today?
No.
When?
?????

Docs only need training on 2 models. Techs work on how many now????
I asked a doc this and he said its a bit more. Many people have slight variations. Kind of like if you only worked on honda insights. Each year was a slight change, then you get the car someone rewired using the same color wire for all connectors. :news Then you get one with a kubto diesel engine, a snow mobile motor or no engine at all, but 3 ima motors sandwiched together and a 2 prius packs in the back. :banghead

Metroschultz, wow..... I wish I could do that. I am sure if I ate slower, I would eat less. I eat like cookie monster and like slamming diet sodas like beer. I do not set out to do it justs I am soo hungry by time I eat or drink I guzzle it.

My goal one day is to dirnk a protein shake before eating. I love those atkins drinks, just wished they made powder for making your own and cheaper.

Forgot His Manpurse

Lunch meat and dogs? Are those nutritionally necessary too? :)

Aside from being financially restricted, I decided not to buy any meat. I have been meat free since 3 weeks ago. The truth is... we do not really need a lot of meat... especially if some of us sit down a lot without exercising the muscles. A lot of my protein intake come from beans and other legumes instead. And they're quite healthy (and tasty). Meat is also one of the priciest parts of any kind of meal, next to vegetables. To give an idea: the price of making your own pizza skyrockets by the dollar once you add each type of topping, whether if it is meat or vegetables.

But the benefits of vegetables exceed meat which makes its "nutrition per price" far more beneficial. We all don't eat enough vegetables - how many of us eat at least five pieces of vegetables? 1/2 a pepper, a piece of tomato, 1/2 onion, cup of spinach, and fresh bunches of herbs and spices? Some of us don't even eat half the amount everyday.

What about buns and bread? Don't waste your time on some of these types of bread, especially the refined flour based bread. Avoid bread that use high fructose corn syrup as its sweetener (that thing is in almost everything unfortunately). Go for those natural and traditional breads that would get you far on a daily basis. They're not that pricey if you shop at the right places.

I suppose it comes down to this sort of analogy: would you put cheap or top quality oil in your car? Top quality oil has all the properties (or nutrition) to keep the engine healthy. Cheap oil will only work for so long.

I tried the veggie thing and it gives me a head ache and leaves me feeling empty. Likewise with soy, tufu and the bean route. I snack on peanuts, but seems I need either a piece of meat or a high quality protein shake to knock out the craving, headache and emptyness feeling. Even with protein shakes, I need a dog or two every now and then. At least you can make a dog, carry it in a cooler and nuke it later on.

I never said I ate healthly, just trying to eat less and stop munching. Needless to say, the rice cakes left me with an empty bag and still feeling hungry. I even tried baby carrots. The kashi cereal seems to work pretty good.
