195# this a.m.
2# is 2#

Saw the head doc on wed. Says if I am happy near 200, then keep on getting on. If I truly wish to lose more, then I must cut out more carbs. Bummer. My only carbs now are found in dairy and fruit. I can't lose the dairy, that is where half my protein comes from. So guess what I haven't had for 4 days? Yup. 'nanas. grapes. pineapples.

I can eat most of what I desire now. I once thought this day would never come. Now it scares the hell out of me. If I can eat as I want, what will stop me from growing to 350# again?
I still can not eat large quantities of anything.
Still no red meat.
No chicken white meat.
no bread.
everything else?
a little dab'll do ya.

Had half a fish sandwich from Wendy's Wednesday. (ya, say that 3 times fast)

My wife made a sugar free chocolate cake today.

Posted Image

Yah! that's what I thought.

Posted Image

Looks damn good don't it.
for perspective, you will note that the missing section is approximately 1/8 of the cake.
That was 2 slices of cake.
One for me
One for Barb,

Posted Image

That's my slice. Has some cherries in sugar free syrup on it. Barb says we should have sugar free cool whip on it. I am not a big fan of cool whip. she loves it though.
Don't freak. I'm good.

I know what I have to do.
I am the one responsible for my intake.
I am the one who will keep me from eating to oblivion again.
I stay on my exercise.
I am down to a 36 inch waist and love the way I feel now.
I keep my food intake low.
I will !!!NOT!!! get that size again.

We use ground turkey instead of hamburger in almost everything now.
It tastes the same. go ahead, use it next time you make spaghetti sauce. Don't tell the kids. See if anyone speaks up. No fair prompting.
By itself, as a burger, you can taste. Not a big diff though.
BDR ate 3/4 of his burger this afternoon and didn't say a word. His mom took a bite and asked. After she opened her big@ss pie hole, he says," I thought it tasted funny". Yah, I believe that boy chile.

Didn't walk this a.m. Raining to beat the devil. Going tomorrow come he!! or high water. (probably both)

See you in the funny pages.

Thanks for having me over last week. Metroschultz is doing well. He has unbelievable will power. He had 3 boxes of krispie kreme donuts in his home, I had a hard time controlling myself as I use to work down the street from one of their shops. His wife looked taller than I last remember and I could not keep up with Metroschultz as he walks so fast. He was walking faster and when we test drove my geo, I felt no difference in the way it performed with him in it with me.

I hate eating myself, I wish I could drink just the shakes or better yet take a pill like the Jetsons did.

!!!GOOD MORNING GMF!!!

We-e-e-ell It's really great to be here,
Went for a 2 mile walk/run this a.m.
20 minutes on the nose.
Hey Murph, remember the P.T. test we had to take every year?
I just passed the 2 mile run portion . Still working on the push ups, sit ups, pull ups part.
I can dead lift 100# now. Or I can do 3 sets of 10 reps with 60# (but it make my arms hurt.)
I'm good for 15 sit ups, 30 regular push ups or 10 push ups with elevated feet. (toes on a kitchen chair)
When I was younger I could do 20 push ups vertical. I can do 1 now. I'd like to be able to do 10.
Damn I feel good today.

It has been (ooh, lets see, 2011 minus 1987 equals) 24 years since I could cover 2 miles in less than 20 minutes and 59 seconds. When I left the military, minimum for a 2 miler was 00:20:59. For a man of 29 years old. I don't remember what the standards were for a man of 35 or older. The standards got a little easier as you aged. Up to the age of 24 you had to do 2 miles in under 00:19:29. I would do mine in 00:13:00. My best time ever was 00:11:?? i remember it was under 12, but don't remember the seconds count.

--BUT--
!D!A!M!N!
Turn upp your volume to "11"
tha'ss how Ah feels today, boys and girls.
Seez yah later.

no worries.
I am satisfied with the amount of weight lost, even if the doc isn't.

Congratulations, metroschultz!
I'm puzzled that the doc might not be satisfied.
I'd think you're poster child material.
Not only have you lost weight, but you're much more active.
Way to go! :)

Thanks for the Kudos guys.
The doc wants me at or below 180#, closer to 160#.

I weighed in at 190# to 200# until I was 28(9) years old then I started to gain and kept snowballing or yoyoing (sp? syn?) until I felt it was time for some drastic life altering change.
The USArmy thought I should weigh under 175#.
--------------SO-------------
When we had a troop weigh in (~ every 6 months) I was required to go see the Company Doctor and get my body fat measured. Standard was less than 20%, I always came in at less than 12%. So I feel, that with the right amount of work and replacement of fat with muscle, (Me and Coche B. are doing the 100 push up challenge) 190# to 200# is a good weight for me. Screw what the doc says.

Yesterday was my 16th anniversary.
I asked Barb where she wanted to go for lunch.
"Denny's" of all places is where she wanted to go. (I would have chosen our favorite little Italian place)
They have a new thing called the "Cheeseburger Flat Bread" it looks like a pizza, and has all the fix-ins of a cheeseburger on it. They use thousand island dressing on it, I didn't know until it came, there is a lot of sugar in TI dressing. Oh! Snap! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Sugar still kills me. Doesn't seem to faze Barb. It tasted real good though, next time We get it, ask for the sauce on the side. Best thing, lunch was $2.30, or $5.00 after tip, (110% tip?) And we were full after!!!

I can eat pretty much what I want now. Just not nearly as much as I used to.
I still eat a lot of Quiche, and fish.
Gonna try my hand at frying chicken again soon, just bought some more thighs.
Need to get some more Crisco.
Maybe spend some big money and get a cast iron pan.
Krissy made chili last week,
used ground turkey and pork instead of beef.
probably the best chili ever.
So, I have been eating that as my after-work nosh.
4 oz, with a little cheese on top and some hot sauce mixed in.
Mmm good.

So, how have you guys been?

PT is getting easier and easier.
Run whenever you can.
don't let the boss see you.
Use heavy objects at work for a quick dead-lift rep/set. I tie 4 bottles of antifreeze together and make 2 sets, then lift as I carry to a truck. Guys used to laugh, now they see a diff in my ability. I can lift the 22.5s into position now without a bar.
Gotta go.
You keep lifting thos 22.5s and you gonna jack up your back! Jack up your back and no running. No running and the issues increase. Easy does it.

I have my PT test coming up in April.

I'm 44 and I have to do the 2 mile run in 17:56

38 pushups and I think 32 situps - I try not to kill myself and just do 42 of each. I have to save my energy for that run. (someday, that MIGHT kill me)

Back when I was 17 (the year 1985), I think the standards were min 16:32 on the run and 40 pushups and 40 situps.

Since I have been in, I think they upped the standards at least twice. They were trying to get rid of people during the force drawdown in the 90s.

Instead, they are now trying to get rid of people with heart rate and blood pressure readings under the guise of "we are worried about you keeling over"

I'm borderline prehypertension and they tried to put me in the med hold catagoy last year (a holding area where they keep you for several months before they give you the axe)

I had to get my own cardiologist and several doctors and pay out of pocket for a "stress test" where they put you on a treadmill and slowly increase the pace and incline until you say uncle.

I just kept chugging along and the doc wrote a nice note for the state surgeon saying I'm fit for duty and that was the end of that (for the moment)

So -
I took my wife to our favorite Italian Restaurant last night for dinner.
We ordered Veal Marsala.
It was refreshing to eat only a few bites of each of the courses of the meal, (antipasto, salad, roasted veggies, Veal, left the bread) sit back, and enjoy, truly savor, the flavors.
And, it gives me hope for beef. Veal is just beef before puberty.
We, of course, split the food, (one salad, one entree, etc.) and carried half home.

Fried chicken with crisco?!?!?!?! I think Id put off on that and focus more on digesting alcohol. Congrads on what you have done so far.

I was really out of it last Saturday. I slepted til 10 am, ate a lb of chicken tenders with buffalo shake n bake with 4 biscuits and some john boy n billy diet ice tea. I then laid down for 3 more hours and finally woke up feeling refreshed and pain free.

Even with the protein shakes I seem to need massive quanities of protein.

Way to go brother. When I was in. I could max out the push ups and sit ups. But I could never quite shave off that last 15 seconds to max out the run. Also for your upper body strength. PB dips, and pull ups. Slowly though. It took a long time for us to get out of shape. It will take time to get back into it.
