No worries guys.
My first priority is to find a competent cardiologist in the area and see what I need to do. Then do it.
Since the cardiologist in the hospital says there is no damage to the heart muscle, no lines of necropsy, no blocked arteries, no indication of any other problems, I should be able to bring the heart back to 100%.

In Feb. 1983, I broke both femurs. The doctors then said it would be 2 years or more before I would walk normally. In may of 1984 I was shipped to Germany and I walked myself on and off the plane. Carried my own luggage. Got back into my running. So this is a will happen scenario.

That great that your heart meat is ok. That is the best sign if you had any minior, micro strokes, heart attacks, etc that you ignored or did not realise. Ive had chest pain before and it is no joke about the elephant standing on your chest. My doc exmines me, gave an mri and said my heart was ok, but it was angina(SP?) pain. Basically if I didnt change my behavior it could lead to a heart attack. About that time I left college and the work I had done towards m my BS degree and quit smoking, the pain went right away.

Some how I got into a conversation with a co worker about indigestion and chest pain. He said when he comes to work after a few hours it feels like an elephant is standing on his chest and his arm and shoulder starts to go numb. I told him thats not the food you eat, its the stress you are putting yourself under and to call out sick for a few.

Holly s#$% dude, glad your ok. I have faith that you will be back 100% and then some. your one of the more strong willed guys I know. I just wish I had half the drive that I see in you.

Telling you to take it easy is like telling me to turn my radio down... just don't happen often... I can ask you to do your best but keep in mind your limitations.

If you need any help you know all you gotta do is call, and another blue geo will be in your drive way by 4 am Saturday morning.

Take care beach dweller

I did slow down.
All I did yesterday was;
1]Re-mounted my battery. (cause the battery tray was broken and in need of repair)
2]Re-set the cam timing. (I had put a +8 gear on my Xfi cam, That was too much by itself, but with my home-made degree wheel [2 clothes pins, a rubber band, and a chopstick] I found out that I was an extra 4* over, so my total cam timing was;
Get this;
Xfi = 6*
Gear = 8*
extra = 4*
that's 18* advance. IIRC that is more than 1 whole tooth on the gear itself.
No wonder the damn thing pinged @ 5* ignition advance. I have it @ 8* ign. adv. now. If that works O.K. we'll go to 10*.
3] changed oil in the kids car.

Today;
Go see a doctor about getting my ticker back in tock shape.
Change oil in the wife's car.
Check fluids in my car. ( and load for a trip if the doc says O.K., I can't make it to GOTG, [I was gonna leave yesterday, and make all my appointments for next week, but common sense slapped me upside the head] but we can still go see her folks in Charleston)

More to come...

Back to the bypass surgery updates;

I can eat damn near anything I want now.
Weight - 160#

Started having gut wrenching pain after meals a week ago.trial and error leads me to find it is only after solid food. Yes I am masticating well. Chewing all my food to the consistency of applesauce.
Doc says I may have a gall bladder problem.
Did some testing yesterday.
will find out more next week.

I begged and begged him to remove it the first time he was in there.
Statistically; 80% of all bypass patients have a gall bladder issue within 5 years after surgery.

So I am back to liquids for a while.
Kind of a bummer,
I was having a great time eating what I wanted.
Just not nearly as much as I used to.

before -1/2 to 3/4 pizza
now - 1 maybe 2 slices.

before - bag of chips and container of dip
now - handful of chips and spoonful of dip.

you get the idea.

damn doctors

Is this before the surgery?
Before surgery and after surgery CB

I remember a time not too long ago when I could sit down and eat 2 [two] Whoppers from BK. The full size babies, not those Jr. ones. A chocolate milkshake and some onion rings.

Now it takes me 2 days to eat a regular size [ 3oz ] cheeseburger.

Ate a 30 oz Porterhouse once, full meal, Salad, Baked potato, appetizer and desert. A few Dos Equis, Posted Image a shot of Tequila, Posted Image maybe a couple more shots and a couple more Dos Equis.

Then stumble on home.

Now [after surgery] one shot f-cks me up for about 15 minutes then I'm sober again. It takes 30 - 40 minutes to finish one cerveza, with no ill effects.
It has something to do with the absorption rate and the way they re-routed my intestines.

Got a date with the doctor on Monday to talk about the results of my testing.
I will know more then.

Bogs,
Me too.
