My next older brother had the same issue's with his heart. And the inspection was a drag. They went in to look at the heart, through his crotch. The pace maker/defib made a big difference for him. I hope your doing great brother.

Congratulations on finding an easy fix. My Mom has been hybrid bionic like that for twenty years now and she does fine. Gets a little slow every five years or so, until they pop a new battery in and she comes home shot out of a cannon.

Good for you on the positive news. My cousin went in the hospital for what was supposed to be a overnight operation for a hernia and go home the next day, its going on five weeks now. Started out a microscopic surgery and ended up slicing him open a couple of days after that. He just now seems to be improving. Anyone with half a heart should feel others pain in these situations. Best to you and your family Schultzy.

Good to hear there is a plan to help. Perhaps you can petition to get a special dispensation for the HOV lane...

Interesting you used the term "Electrician" referring to your doctor. My father went "Code Blue" while they were working on him. When they brought him around he said " Ya'll have some pretty good electricians and plumbers here, thanks." They did not know if they wanted to get pissed or just laugh. When he saw the bill for his defib(bout 50,000) all total, he told the Doc " Damn this little thing cost more than a damn Mercedes. He was a good man. Take good care of your self. We need you around.

Good news Paul!

I figured even if your ticker was totally trashed, you could do like Dick Cheney and get a new artificial one.

Did y'all know he has no heartbeat? They use a new "corkscrew" pump design that constantly circulates his blood. As a result, he shows up as a flatline on an EKG and has to carry a sign with him instructing to not use a defibrulator in the event he passes out.

That's great news. At least the heart is in good shape otherwise.

Make sure you upgrade the pacemaker to the model that has the sex setting. Otherwise, life might be pretty boring. :whistle

......Then I just plug it in every night and I'm ready for driving the next day. I wonder if I can find a battery on the web to increase out put?......
I think I saw someone build one of these as a powersource "in cave from a box of scraps!..."

Or just set up your welding cart to haul a truck battery with you.

Thats good news. My father was never in normal sinus rythem. They used the paddles on him like they do on people who are no longer among the living and made it right again, but it went back to its own rythem.

Yes, Id love to try my hand at welding. Working his metro would be way more productive than buying a piece of stock from lowes, cutting and rewelding it, then try to return it because its shaped funny. :)

Plug in at night? Wonder if they offer a solar cell? How about a hand crank ? What ever happened to the potato with the zinc and copper rod? :) I sear I have seen a urine powered clock, maybe that could be your back up power supply?

Dont get me started.....

Will you still be able to work on cars? The electro magnetic fields from the ingition system might be bad for the defib. Brother Dan could not work on cars any more when he got his pacemaker/defib.
