Way to go, metroschultz....and the same to your wife!
Sounds like your children are not so thrilled, but I'm hoping they're happy for you.
It's fun to read your progress.
Congratulations on exercising and the increased energy.

Congrats again on the progress you have made. :thumb :thumb
The way you describe your eating habits is a laugh riot and reminds me of Elwood ordering food in The Blues Brothers...

Mrs. Murphy: May I help you boys?
Elwood: You got any white bread?
Mrs. Murphy: Yes.
Elwood: I'll have some toasted white bread please.
Mrs. Murphy: You want butter or jam on that toast, honey?
Elwood:: No ma'am, dry.
[Mrs. Murphy gives him a look, then turns to Jake]
Jake: Got any fried chicken?
Mrs. Murphy: Best damn chicken in the state.
Jake: Bring me four fried chickens and a Coke.
Mrs. Murphy: You want chicken wings or chicken legs?
Jake: Four fried chickens and a Coke.
Elwood: And some dry white toast please.
Mrs. Murphy: Y'all want anything to drink with that?
Elwood: No ma'am.
Jake: A Coke.
Mrs. Murphy: Be up in a minute

next scene...
Mrs. Murphy: We got two honkies out there dressed like Hasidic diamond merchants.
Matt Murphy: Say what?
Mrs. Murphy: They look like they're from the CIA, or somethin'.
Matt Murphy: What they want to eat?
Mrs. Murphy: The tall one wants white bread, toasted, dry, with nothin' on it.
Matt Murphy:: Elwood.
Mrs. Murphy: And the other one wants four whole fried chickens and a Coke.
Matt Murphy: And Jake. Shit, the Blues Brothers!

While we were walking the boardwalk, my oldest was whining for a "Giant Smoked Turkey Leg".
I told her I wasn't going to pay for it, but we would wait while she got one.
She tried to get her sister to split it with her.
These things are HUGE. I'm guessing they each weigh in around a pound. Good for a family to share while walking around the state fair or whatever.
One person shouldn't be able to eat one. (Maybe that Chinese kid who wins all the hot dog contests)
So, if I can't help eat it, and my wife can't help, and Rachel won't help, then guess what.
You're on your own kiddo.

I'm glad you can find the humor as I do.
I was getting bummed over the no solid food thing. BTW I'll probably never eat bread again. Carbs are evil.
No bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, etc.
My meals, when I start eating more solid food, will consist of; protein (Meat or Fish) and green veggies. Eventually my new stomach will stretch to accommodate around 4-5 ounces. Right now, it hurts to eat more than 2 ounces and is uncomfortable after 1 ounce.
I still don't sit down with a plate of vittles.
But it takes time.
Gastric surgery has been around for over 40 years.
In the 60's they cut you and sent you home. You are on your own as far as eating habits.
In the 70's they cut you and gave you some minor instructions and sent you home. You are still on your own.
Some where in the 80's and 90's they realized that over half the gastric bypass patients were relapsing to their old weight.
Now you get extensive education before surgery and follow up support groups after.
Not all surgeries go the same.
My wife was eating solid food around 3 weeks after surgery.
I have met people who couldn't eat solid until 3 months after.
So I fall somewhere in the middle.
I make up for this by taking in large quantities of protein in the form of protein drinks.
I don't feel hungry so I actually have to use the clock to remind me when to "eat".
I have gone entire days without drinking my protein just because I was busy and forgot.

If all the overweight people in the USA could just forget to eat one day a week, we, as a country, could lose the extra pounds and get back to a healthy weight. 3500 calories = 1 pound. If you burn 3500 calories more than you eat, you lose a pound. Conversely, if you eat 3500 more than you burn, you gain. Simple math. I did not have the will power to lose on my own. I was on the physicians diet, with my doctors help for 2 years before considering weight loss surgery. That took me from 350# to 280#. I hit a plateau I could not jump down from. It was a big step.

We are the most overweight country in the world. Third world or industrialized.
We are also the only country where "High Fructose Corn Syrup" is still legal.
This was invented in the 70's when the price of real sugar went through the roof.
It is chemically altered corn syrup.
It does not react in your body the way sugar or other natural sweeteners do.
When you eat something sweet, your body sees this and reacts with a metabolism upsurge and insulin.
HFCS allows your body to 'see' 1 gram of sugar, while providing the sweetness and calories of 3 grams.
Your body can not react sufficiently for you to burn what you have ingested.

Now that more people are learning this, the industry is pushing to change the name of HFCS.
You will see it listed as
Corn syrup solids, or corn sweetener extract, or any number of other names.
All designed to fool you.
Don't be fooled, if it doesn't say sugar or you don't recognize the type of sugar (dextrose, fructose, sucrose, etc) it is HFCS.
If I had the money I would personally campaign against HFCS.
I believe it is the single biggest reason for an overweight USA.

I'll jump off the soap box now.

I had a scrambled egg this morning.
8 grams of protein and 70 calories.
Mm good.

Yeah and nearly all brands of soda and fruit juice have that shit in there...... its so hard to avoid :(

I know soda/pop is nothing but empty calories but I was happy when Pepsi and Mountain Dew brought back their old original recipies in the form of "Throwback"

The Mountain Dew was awesome and it was made with cane sugar and orange juice like the original.... and NO HFCS

I was just over at my local pet store and my friend M. was chatting with a lady about dog diets and Show Stopper dog food supplement when the subject of Muscle Milk came up.

So, metroschultz, you can try the dog supplement but for now I'm just suggesting maybe Muscle Milk which is for humans, if you aren't already using it.

"Muscle MilkĀ® Light is a delicious snacking option that is lower in calories than Genuine Muscle MilkĀ® and is sugar free, lactose free, and gluten free . Each 14oz. Ready-to-Drink bottle has 20 grams of high-quality protein, complex carbohydrates, good fats, and vitamins & minerals to help power you through your hectic day."

I have 6 or 8 drink boxes of "Muscle Milk Light" in the fridge right now.
I am over it, time for something new.
The taste is fine, but after a while you just want a new flavor.
I just got the "Unjury" I ordered.
You mix it yourself.
Flavor is better than MM.

Not sure I would like the Dog Supplement.

You heard the joke about the "Alpo Diet" right?

Dog biscuits are OK with a nice hollandaise sauce.

No. Please regale us with the "Alpo Diet." :news
