Be careful with salvage titles. It makes the car uncoverable insurance claim wise (not your personal insurance) I was in a bitter fight with an insurance company that wanted to write off my van after the car wash ripped it apart good and nasty.

I ended up getting $3400 (not enough to fix it but enough to make it decent again) I refused to accept salvage title. They claimed that was more than it was worth. I school them on that.

A rust bucket clubwagon went for $4500 on ebay. 2 other non rust buckets went for over $6k with MORE MILES than mine and less ammenities. (club wagons are HARD to find and heavily desired)

those were the only 3 for sale the ENTIRE YEAR I was arguing with them withing 1000 miles of me. When I sent them that data they stopped arguing with me and cut me my check with NO salvage title.

the problem is (from what I understand in PA at least) if you get a salvage title this means NO INSURANCE company ever has to PAY YOU for anything that happens to your car ever again since "full value" is considered to have already been paid out for it.

SO if they salvage it and then tomorrow someone else "whacks" your car the insurance does not have to pay for damages to your car since it was already "written off"

the only way to undo it is with a VERY thorough and very expensive detailed inspection that is VERY hard to pass to get the car re-certified and the "salvage" undone.

Thanks for the heads up. I will ask them about it. Northern laws are a bit different than down here, or so I've heard. Ive got to talk to them tomorrow so I'll ask them then.

I see a lot of club wagons down here. Why are they so rare or wanted?

Coche that actually makes sense. In many cases by "accepting" some payment for something you absolve the payee of owing you any "more" they wanted him to take the $200 because that might on some level or to some extent ABSOLVE them of owing him any more if later he goes oh crap this got damaged (spinal head whatever) and its going to cost a lot more now.

its a CYA maneuver so not as strange as it at first sounds :-) just BAU.

Yes. Go try to find one :-) and not a Vinyl Wagon (sometimes called club wagons) you know the church vehicle with 3 vinyl bench seats and bare metal everywhere.

the real club wagons with the captains chairs front rear air cloth everything really nice vehicles. they are the "cadillac's or town car's" of vans.

in the year I spent fighting the insurance company I found EXACTLY ONE available within many many miles of me and it was a rust bucket externally and sold for over a grand more than the insurance company claimed my damned near "cherry" club wagon was worth before the car was ripped it up.

I found my picture box which I think has pictures of the carnage in it. I will try to remember to get them posted.

I found TWO on ebay (there are a few old generation CW's and a few newer ones but only 2 in my generation)

110584575562 - its nice in that its extended but only has benches and it beat to hell with the lowest option package IE its a CW in name only more of a vinyl wagon with one cloth bench seat.

250697584770 - that is your typical Vinyl Wagon. you can get these a dime a dozen.

Wow here is a strange one. 250696145872 more a Cargo Van than a CW with an unusual sliding door which is usually limited to cargo's. I was thinking it is a cargo and he mislabled it CW but it has the two tone typical of CW's

THIS is more like your typical Club Wagon though a bit newer (but shockingly almost identical) 140453736905

Not one van available on ebay like mine though.

HEY I found one in my color layout! alas its a 12ps vinyl wagon inside

http://southjersey.craigslist.org/ctd/1948688570.html

So to clarify my van is basically a Chateau but with the normal E150 Windows instead of the "camper van" windows which I prefer (e150 windows)

finding a CW in this packaging is extremely difficult. There is not one that I can find on ebay or within 250 miles of me.
