Hit the 2 Pic a Parts in my area today. Made out pretty good. Got a $80 coil for $6.50 for an 02 Accent I'm working on. Window reg with motor, 02 Sonata $25 instead of $140. Sunvisors for a Dakota pickup, & AC compressor with bracket, idler pulley & hoses for my 99 Metro for $30, plus an almost new looking Metro clutch disc, TB bearing & plate for $15. Not a bad haul. |

Bought a new air compressor, hoping to get what is needed for the Metro to finish the head gasket replacement. All I need is the O-ring for the distributor and i should have that puppy running in no time! P.S So excited! |

ez fix. did it at work yesterday before i left. ran the motor for a minute, and found the heater hose under the tstat housing leaking right after the clamp. old age crack in the hose just after the clamp. removed hose, and cut just after the split, and shoved it back on. no leaks so far. planned to change all the hoses sometime later. got a control arm for left front for the 4 door. going to change this weekend. got it off ebay for $35 total. |

LOL, Life's a bitch when you start getting older isn't it? Rest that shoulder and get better. Also, get some help next time.Johnny, I've been meaning to ask you but I keep forgetting. Can you give me a quick rundown on the difference in engine performance (G10) between the stock cam and the 3tech cam and gear? I'm considering trying to improve engine performance if possible. I can. Performance cam = added power at up RPM and improved airflow, for more power throughout. Less fuel efficiency by 2 or so MPGs, depending on how you drive. Economy cam = torque curve moved down, more power...maybe...noticeably less top end. More fuel efficiency. + 10 cam gear moves power band down, and adds 5hp. Thanks. Can you elaborate on how each cam sprocket changes performance? For example, how does the +6 sprocket change performance from the +10? |
