B-) Hey Guys. In less than two days. I am headed for the salt flats again. Lets hope this year is more successful that the previous two. 08, I started my new job one day one of the time trials. So I had to miss it. 09, broke down in Fernley NV. Since I am not gonna be taking the Dark Starr. I have been working on my old Ford PU. Its a 59. Shaped just like a brick. I remounted the shell, so I can take my man sized mini bike and shade with me. It took about $5 in quarters to wash out the mildew and slug crap. And there was a lot. :lol I have changed out the oil in the engine, trans and diff. I went to just a bit lighter oils in the trans and diff. Not to much heat there. So a thinner oil may help me get better MPG. Like I said this thing is shaped like a brick. But it haus a&&. I have been working on sealing up the doors again and slowind down the exuast fumes gettiing in the cab. I have it almost sealed again. I will take a lot of pics. And will try to post in the evenings when I get back to my room. I know. Take sun screen. I used to be a red head. So under my shirt. I am really pink. :lol Lets hope I have not forgotten anything. I will take off the evening of the 13th. I think I will stay in the hills near Susanville. Take care guys and see you on the Salt.

I could do the speep trial for the mansized mini bike in less than 1/8th mile. LOL Wow I am at a wifi hot spot. And they are cooking potatoes with garlic. Man it smells good. I only have to dissconnect the auto choke on the Holley and do my dishes from last PM and nap. Then I am ready to take off. And there is a nice over cast here. So it will make for a great drive for me. Hwy 299 E is gonna wear me out. In that old truck its power steering by armstrong. LOL And its a very windy road. The good news is, I get to hit the Derweinersnitchzel when I get to Redding. ^o) I miss that about Vegas. So take care and I will post as often as I can. B-) Yes I rememberd my shades. Got two pair. Just in case

I made it. It looks like Bro plane could not get clear enough weather to take off. So I will be going it alone this year. Hey its a nice rm too. The air works. I saw a lot of Metros between the coast and Reno. I even saw one broke down about 2 miles on the W side of Reno. Man was it cold last night. I pulled off the road about 10 miles short of Susanville, CA. It got down to almost freezing. And I only brought my summer sleeping bag. Good thing I took a ponch liner too. The truck ran great. But the MPG's sucked. Makes me really miss my Rocket. I think I averaged, 11.2MPG's. Ouch. We rinsed the carb last week. But I think we missed something. It runs strong. Just fat.

I went and had dinner at the Nugget. Not to bad. I had to remember to go to the Nevada side of Wendover to buy beer. The boundary between NV and UT, is a white line drawn on main street right where the Tall buildings of the casinos stop. And then you have UT. And weird blue laws. And crappy beer.
