OK guys I am back with a question. Have finally started to rebuild my suspension on my 97 1.0 (no ABS).

What is recomended for rear bearings, inner and out, Timken or ball bearing? Both types are listed as replacement units. Also if any of the guys have Turbin Tech equipment left over sitting in your storage area growing dust, let me know if it is for sale. Just trying to save a dollar!

Honestly, I've given Mastro Pro brand wheel bearings a shot, which is O'Reilly's store brand, and I've had good luck with them. I have them on a few of my vehicles now, and they work just fine.

You can get them for about 7.50 each. That's a hell of a lot better than paying 22 each for National, or even a bit more for Timken bearings!

I'd like to see more people try these bearings, and get some general data and come to a forum consensus. Anyone with me?

I talked to Checker (O'Reilly). All they showed me was National for 21.00 and SKF for 17.00. Thought that was a little expensive. I will ask about Mastro Pro and see what they come up with.
