Just wondering how long you guys have went before having to replace your rear shoes and/or drums. My car now has 122,00 and the rear shoes and drums are original. Parking brake holds firm, too.

Christine has 177,000 with the same brakes since I got it and still good.

Rear brake linnings last a long time, its the front pads that get the most attention. I have not replaced mine and almost 200000.

Forget when I did mine but I think it was around 278,000 miles.

Why you Mutt!

I have put over 80k on mine. This is fairly consistent with other cars I have owned...it takes a long time to wear out rear brakes (unless you drive with the brake on!)

My 98 has 150K on it and there's about one third of the rear shoes left.

206K here. I was going to change them out the last time I did the front. I pulled off the drums to look and still had plenty left on the shoes.

I took rear drums off after I heard scraping sounds from the right rear. It only occurs once in awhile during rainy periods, then goes away. I think it's just dust, etc. Still have 2/3 of shoes left...
