Went and looked at a 1996 Geo metro Conv, very clean little car with less than 80,000 actual miles on the odometer, nice!!!!!

Problem. Metro Conv is only a 2 seater. uuugghhh???? It does look like there would be room enough for a back seat if the conv housing was not there. Has anybody tried or is it possible to stick a rear seat in these things?

TIA
Clay

The floorboard and rear connection points at the top of the strut towers are all correct for the back seat, but if you take out the area which contains the top the car will be structurally unsound. Under the plastic cover there is an important side to side piece which takes the place of the solid top in the unibody design. Also, the convertibles were only made from 91-93, look inside the door, at the frame and check the date, it is NOT a 96.
