I don't understand the comment. Yesterday you said "my coolant was reading 200F and the fan hadn't kicked in yet so i shut her down," you posted the video, 20 minutes later. However there are two types of thermostats according to my FSM: Fan thermostat switch functional spec +/- 5o C (9F) "A" come ON at 98o C (208F) "A" come ON at 102o C (215F) OFF is at 199F and 206F, BTW I have watched it twice and you don't want my opinion because I do not know little about that engine. If the valves were hydraulic I'd say they sounded dry but considering, I don't think you have a problem. I know how to adjust the valves because they are the same as on my Goldwing. I do know that the 395/226 cam is responsible for a lot of the low rumble engine noise. ...as is the header and the exhaust. I love the video. I think that is a very good thing. I went 218/350, header and flow through header back with the glasspack. I'll never have the smooooth quiet idle again. My Geo under load. |

ya they're rocker arms, i gotta check the lash. but its gotten better with some running. Anyway about the coolent temp, these mk1 engines have a CTS that runs to the TPS and the ECU. and a Coolent temp switch that runs from fuse 1 to CT-SW then branches for to diode assembly to ECM(idle up input) and the other branch to the fan and ground. ![]() my aftermarket coolant temp gauge reads 210F-215F and the stock temp gauges read a needle width to the red zone my 95 the gauge would never get that hot before the fan kicked in. i unplugged the CTS and the temp switch and it still didn't tun on. and jumped the fan and it works sooo i donno what to do.I wired a switch in for the moment so @least i have a fan. My auto electrical understanding is very limited. im surprised i didn't fry the ECM doing this swap. for rough idle! you should post a video!!![]() |

So, on that bit of bad news the terms that come to mind are ground, continuity, voltage drop and fuse-able link. Sorry, I can't be of more help. I always considered the stock gauges to be just a step up from idiot lights. But it sounds like there's a difference in current between temp gauges. You need an electrical guru, not moi.

Wahoo!! You did it!! Who cares how, it's all magic anyway. So, to celebrate take your toy and go cruise west to east, past Bema BMW and wrap you throttle or wind it out to 4K rpm in 2nd or 3rd (no speeding tickets). You will get some heads to turn. I do it on vacation in SoCal when I cruise past the Newport Beach Ferrari/BMW dealers.

I changed the fuel pump today as i was informed that they are different ![]() hmmm i guess they are to the left is turbo then stock g10 then can I have a little boost problem..... there's to much!! lol i think my waste gate actuator is either busted/seized or my boost controller is bad or line leaking... But its hella fun to drive
