I've found a junkyard 92 metro with perfect window/door black trim all around. Mine's wweatherbeaten, cracked, faded, need I go on? Is it simpler to scrape and paint the old trim or can it be pulled and transferred from the other car with relative ease?

I've never painted the rear trim on any of mine, but the trim at the bottom of the drivers and passengers windows always peels. I just strip it, and paint it.

Yeah, what's peeling under the driver's window is a heavy, almost rubbery paint. the back window's trim is all just fading and turning white-ish istead of black. I thought if they came off easily enough it'd be easier to swap em out instead of sanding, masking, painting, etc.

I bought some spray on "plasti-dip" for mine when I repainted them, it looks good.
