I asked this already but what is your opinion on this tool. It's $52. Ebay I don't use it often but when I do it gets a workout so I want a quality one. I also am on a budget so $ is an issue. The cheap $20 ones at advance, autozone, o'reilly don't last long. The little 3/16 die always breaks off in the tube. The Blue Point one I used before worked fine but is still the same design as the cheap ones. I have seen these ratching type before but never used them and there is one similar on ebay for $200. Does anybody use these or similar? Do Mac or Matco have anything good?

I have not tried one like that before. I have always used to spring style. It just slides over the tubing to be bent, and then you pull in the shape you need. |

This is a double/single flaring tool Mr Murf. It's not a tubing bender. |

I have found the trick to not breaking the mandrel is grinding a taper on the end of the tubing. All kits no matter what brand seem to have the same issues with breaking the guide pin off. The taper seems to help, I have not broken mine since I started grinding the tubing. |

I have it, and it works well. I posted in your other thread here: http://geometroforum.com/topic/3826304 I do put a chamfer on the outside of the tube and de-burr the inside before flaring. |

That's the only type I use now, it's MUCH easier to use in tight spaces so you don't usually have to disassemble everything to get it done. |
