My ex wife needed a roof installed over her carport/storage area. It was a pretty good size area 14 by 50. She called a couple of roofing contractors for quotes. They all seemed to be pretty high and had some doubts about the pitch,Etc. Last week I was riding my bike and saw some guys with a tar kettle installing a built up roof. I stopped and talked to the guy and he said he could do it with no problems. He came out in a day or two and quoted her a very reasonable price, not real cheap but not out of sight either. I asked him "Are you a honest guy?" Of course he said yes. We shook hands and that was it. He and his crew came out Saturday and did a excellent job. Damn That hot tar is some nasty stuff. With all the horror stories you hear now days, it is great that there still some good, hard working, honest people around. :thumb :thumb :thumb

Love how I twisted this from the one or two paragraphs Billy wrote, into something totally different. Sorry, billy!

Nice that there are people that help like that. My mom got some siding repair and roof repair done by some contractors that were doing a siding job for a neighbor... they said "Oh, we've already been paid for the day, and we have nothing else to do. This one is on us!"

They hung some siding that had blown off (it was at the top of a second story end), and also nailed on a new ridge cap for her since the ridge vent blew off...

Super nice of them since there was NO way she could do it on her own, I was 850 miles away, and she couldn't afford for a contractor to come out and do it.
