I have a '95 4 cylinder,4 door sedan. I have a wheel removed, the caliper tied up out of the way, and the two machine bolts that appear to hold the rotor to the hub are out. Cursing and hammer haven't persuaded the rotor to budge yet. Do I use a large wheel puller? I found one reference that said to remove the bracket that holds the caliper in place. That doesn't seem reasonable. Whats the secret here?

I had the same problem when I replaced my rotors last fall. I hammered and hammered on the back of the disc. That's the only way to get it off. Just make sure you don't hit anything else.

I lost a lot of calories that day; I sweated my ass off doing it. :D

Blame the rust.

Sometimes you need a bigger hammer. You will then have to replace the rotor.

did you try putting the screws into the other 2 holes, they will push the rotor off as there is no hole in the hub behind the other 2.

Here is how I removed the rotor. I took a new rotor with me to Home Depot to test fit for the bolts in the two threaded holes. I bought two 8 mm x 25 mm bolts. When I had a few minutes, I put them into the threaded holes and pushed the rotor off. I timed it with my watch at between 4 and 5 minutes. Even at $1 a bolt, it was money well spent.

Look around under the hood. There are appropriate bolts under there somewhere.
