Is Ryan totally straight?
These two combined made me lol Ryan. :D

I'm starting to job hunt again, legitimately. So yes, I should have a job in the next 6 months.

Why didn't GM put longer screws on sideview mirrors? :hmm
Because they had nothing to do with our cars?

More seriously, I think it's so that they will break rather than ripping the metal out of the doors.

My owner's manual states "Genuine Chevrolet" and a GM dealership has parts for my car. So, GM hopefully had something to do with it.

Those screws suck! I'm surprised my mirrors didn't break off sooner!

My left side is held on by 1 screw and a twistie tie :)

Love my Jeep's "break-away" side mirrors--beats car mirrors hands down. Has spring loaded cables holding mirror in place, and rods in slots that can pop out for impact forwards or backwards. Just push back in and all is good. :)

Stately and Bryan: Have you ever lost a side-view mirror in an automatic car wash?

Love the breakaway mirrors too, but my mom's last Camry's didn't have them. She had an encounter as well. Guess those are too "premium" for the Metro! :P

Just sold it, that's about it.

You could just as well say "what was Subaru thinking about when they mounted the mirrors on William's Justy?" http://geometroforum.com/topic/2685800 The answer is, Subaru didn't think at all, they just slapped Subaru stickers on the thing and sold it. Printed up some owner's manuals and reserved one small shelf back in the corner of each dealership for some Suzuki parts.
