this is purely a fairy tale right now but I am really stocked by the "5th wheel" style beetle trailer and REALLY want to build one.

I am going to try and bully the family into a get together to get me a welder for christmas. :-) I really want to try and build one so if there is camping I will likely be camping :-)

HAHA nerys, you had better get an aluminium welder because if you use steel the camper would be so heavy the metro would not be able to move it. But I do think it is a cool idea, the VW/camper looked way cool.

well I was thinking steel trailer (say start with a chinese harbour freight 4x8 special) and then aluminum and composite "shell" to keep things light.

remember we have MORE power than a beetle did and it seems to move that trailer without much trouble.

Someone was asking recently about a GMP up in the W Canada area. Looks like there is one planned over at the TS site for early Nov. I will see if I can make a link.

The more I ponder the idea, we might just do it like we did the first 2. I will rent a pavilion and we all meet there for an all day Saturday event. Of course after the meet, we can go to wherever the campers are hanging out.

true but an actual camping location would be nice so we can all "set up" and "stay" instead of having to move each day.

will the new location still be in range of the Drive In ?
