Had to replace my transmission. The pinion failed in the differential and it was not worth repairing. I bought a replacement transmission from a firm in North Carolina who specializes in JDM parts. The replacement was a unit with less than 40K on it and a 6 month warranty. 3 days later, they delivered the transmission right to my mechanics' shop. I had them replace the pan gasket, filter and both axle half-shaft seals and of course, drain it and fill up with fresh tranny fluid. Four hours later I got a call to tell me the car was ready. I ran right over to pick it up. I can't tell you how much better my car is to drive now. It shifts smoothly and makes very little noise. Down shifts when I need it to without protest. I just can't believe how bad the other transmission was. So sweet to have my car back. ![]()

Did I mention it was an automatic? Guy said he had like 10 Automatics sitting around. They were very professional. Provided me tracking numbers and they accept credit cards. I don't know if they carry manual transmissions for the Metro/Swift. You might want to call them. Ask for Dane @ 1-888-518-7314 The name of the place is called "Japan Direct". If I may... Web click; Japan Direct Their eBay page: http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/mrengine/ Their current eBay listing for a G10 automatic transmission is $250 plus shipping. |

Are you saying that ford festiva wheels will fit on a Geo? Will that work the other way around? Will Geo wheels fit on a Festiva? |

As you can see the 12" Festiva wheels fit on my Geo. I don't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable between the Festiva and Metro. When I first got my car It had a different sized and brand of tire on each wheel. I drove around reluctantly for about 3 months with that oddball tire combo. But after replenishing my bank account from the initial purchase of the car. I set out to find new tires. As you all know, 12" tires are harder to find then "Hen's teeth". I went to "http://www.tires-easy.com/Tires.html" and picked up 2 VeeRubber Mexx-Grip 155/70/12's for the back axle. Decent tire for a no-name brand and they were only $35 each. Shipping was $7 a tire. A few weeks later I went back to tires-easy to pick up 2 more, but they were out of stock. So I purchased a set of Yokohama Y372's 145/80/12's for the front axle. They ran about $45 each and $7 per tire to ship. After I did more research, I decided the next tires I would buy are a set of Nankang 165/70/12's all around. Unless I come across some sweet light 13" or 14" Alloys that I couldn't live without. ![]() ![]() Edited by tecnopolis, Nov 29 2010, 08:28 PM.

Just bought an inside rear hatch release to add to my car. It's getting old, having to get out and unlock the trunk whenever someone needs to get something out of it. Looks like a pretty straight forward deal. Gonna make Metro life a little easier.

Well mine didn't come with one.. All you need to do it is in the photo. The Guy included the bolts to mount everything in the stock locations. |
