I have one in my 95 that came with the car. It doesn't leak and in the summer I take it out. I found one in a metro in the junkyard and am thinking about putting it in my 98. It's the same brand as the one in the 95. I would rather have a vert but for now this would work. What do you guys think? Do you like them? I could see where you might loose some mpg due to wind catching it. |

I did the roof scoop for my little dog, the '91 is a fairly hot car in the Summer. I would have gone with one of the 17"x17" sun roofs but could not find just one. My vent opens front and rear. It's a personal opinion but I like them the extra air for extra cooling. What car is not, in even a small way, it's owners personal expression. If you like the look and function of the Sunroof in the '95 then go for it.

I don't like those pop-up sunroofs... Years ago (about 36 or so), I found, on a used car lot, a 1967 Triumph GT-6 for $1k. ![]() Looked just like this except had a pop-up sunroof. Everything was really nice on this car until I sat in the driver's seat. Leaned back slightly and smacked the back of my head on the aftermarket pop-up sunroof catch. Had visions of poking a hole in my skull every time I went over a dip, heaven forbid I should get rear-ended! Edited by JoeBob, Nov 3 2010, 08:03 PM.

Went to the JY Thursday and scored. I got this sunroof with removable velcro shade. If my son had not pulled the trunk release I would have not found the shade. I also got 2 like new hatch struts and a bag full of push/pull trim clips and a new 4 rib crank pulley and some other misc. all for $20.![]() ![]() Here is the one in my 95! The new one will go in my 98!

I picked up a 91 beater Metro with a bad frame, but it has A/C and a popup sunroof. It's taken me the better part of 5 months, but the frame is fixed, and on my test drives the sunroof is a pleasant surprise in increased airflow. When you have the rear vents open, plus the sunroof, it keeps things much cooler.

Those are my favorite types of sun/moon roofs, of all the ones I used to install, those were least likely to leak and had the smallest lever impact. I have one in my basement I've been saving for the proper vehicle to install into, it may well go into my Metro (but that will be a summer install, after all the bs with the 2 houses is done).
