Driver side window will not roll up all the way. Apparently window glass came off mounts and pushes off top door guide when forced to open. Advice? Thanks Ron |

Well, you have to take the interior door panel off to get to the window regulator. The window has come out of the runners due to excessive wear. The regulator needs to be adjusted and maybe the runners need to be looked at. If the runners are loose then you need to find out why. Usually they have come loose from the side of the door frame because a bolt became loose or the bracket has come loose from the runner. The first time you open up the door panel is a daunting task. Rest assured that the more you are in there the easier it is to make the repairs. I can pop off the panel and have the regulator and window out in about twenty minutes. Also when you reassemble the regulator to the door frame, remember to use 'thread lock" or the screws will come loose quickly. I'm sure others willadd their two cents. |

Don't pull it off unless you want to break it. It uses a small wire clip. Try using a rag to snag the clip and pull it free. |

![]() this is what happens if you pull. I use a little tool I made from a hanger to get the clip out

The other option for door handles is to use a rag and a kind of "cow milking" motion. ![]() To install it you install the clip as shown in mcmancuso's pic and push it on. I do it with the window up and put it on with the handle pointing away from my knee. A couple of the screws are hidden and covered, I pulled the panel off - it's mostly snapped on - but if it resists to much check for a hidden screw. |

Thanks for the advice on the little clip on the roll up handle. I'm sure I would have just forced that puppy off The little wire hook tool worked great; I was able to get the window back in the side channels by bending the mounts a little. I don't know if I'll try rolling the window down again but at least the rain won't pour in! Thanks Ron |

you can get a nice lever style suction cup from harbour freight. about $3 to $4 its orange. put that on your window. this way you can "hold" the window in the proper position when you roll it up without jumping out of the channel. good stop gap measure till you fix it good. |

I was the same way when I learned it and was like when I learned to first put the clip on the handle then push it on the rod to install it.

I'd like to add a little to this thread. If you have problems with the window going up straight after fixing and lubing everything try adjusting the the short guide runner. The holes are slotted for a reason .If the window comes loose and falls out of the track at the back as it gets toward the top loosen the two screws on the guide runner and tilt it so the front screw is at the bootom and the rear screw is at the top of the slot. I've fixed lots of windows this way and have even had to elongate the slots some to get more movement. Ken..... |
