ok so ![]() looks like this is gonna be a long term project.... funds are tight, and with the bigger engine, the bigger the price bill found some things wrong with the car as well so we are gonna step it up a little, along with the i broke as wellthis will give you an idea of what im dealing with... note this is just to get her road worthy and i must say i came out ahead for just a $150 ill let ya'll know that i was offered to buy a 94 GT @ Geopalooza from our late arrival friend for 2 grand witch seemed reasonable for the shape of the car... so if i can build a higher performance car and make it road worthy for roughly that price if not a tad more then ill be satisfied. shipping not included with prices. need a 3rd break lamp. ill search local yards for one and hopefully get it on the cheep need a headlamp, and turn signal switch. im looking into it... price soon she needs Half shafts. ive heard its recommended to do the bearings as well so that will be figured in as well. Bearings- $64 both Half shafts- 120 both 3 tech products (correct me if I'm wrong Mike), with a cams, gears, Head milled, ported, polished, and oversize valves, and head bolts little over $1,000 with core charge Performance Chip from Sandro $50 Bottom end parts Rings- $38 Parts Dino Rod bearings- $20.00 Parts Dino Felpro gasket sets Top end- checking on Bottom end- checking on Exhaust Header- SRD $270 (i already know you dont have to warn me) Cat- Magnaflow $64 Muffler- Flowmaster 60 series delta flow $120 All new pipe, and installation... roughly $70-80 (i don't do exhaust) ill worry about intake systems at a later date... like i said this is to get it up and going, and passable for VA inspection. and mostly finished. That brings me to $1,826 for whats listed above Plus the cost of the car and you have $1976... not bad im guessing it will be arround 2,300 by time i get the rest of it. now IF i would have bought that GT, and put the chip and head package on it it would bring me to $3.050 + some body work... had a pretty good mash in the fender that i didn't like. SO im thinking that this project is still a good deal. Looks like ol Potter is gonna TRY to talk the boss man into some serious over time. |

That’s not to bad considering. It's about what I have invested in mine, maybe a little less as I have not had the whole head done by 3Tech and the smaller engine. But then I got two cams & cam gears... for the Wife also. Plus 2 aluminum under pulleys. I did get a "new" JDM engine for $525. Yep, the exhaust is crazy but important and you should LOVE the sound. You are doing great Potter!

Score 1 for Potter! Nice find! Did the seller give you a good deal, or did you have to let the money do the talking? |

i'll just say its a BIG SCORE!!! the guy is a member here, and for the deal he gave me its not that great to brag about it, im just very humble that he chose to "sell" it to me. i promise it will be well taken care of and well used. i can stealth my sound system that i have planned to go into this car now! i have 2 10" woofers claimed that one of my friends have. Im also looking at getting my taxes done next week sometime, so i'll be getting on that soon. been really crazy here in potters world. |

I see you got the privacy hatch cover. I spent $20.00 at the local tear apart. I was lucky. I wasn't even there for metro parts, but had to stroll on by. Your moving? <I:-) sounds like fun. Hope to see your project picked back up. |
