Plus, it's a Metro; I'm not spending more money on tires.
Your logic makes no sense.

Quite a while ago a friend said "good tires are the cheapest form of effective insurance for your car".

Considering that tires are the ONLY solid interface your car should have to the material world, it makes sense. Plus, if you take into account the savings of your Metro vs about any other car insurance, the tires are paid for in a couple of years.

Ryan,

I have two Metros and have two full sets of 13" rims with Firestone Winterforce 155/80-13 snow tires. If you like the way your Metro drives in the snow with standard tires, and if you plan to stay in Michigan for a few years.... you owe it to yourself get a set of Winterforce tires for your Metro. I run mine only during snow seasons and judging from the negligible tread wear on them, I'd guess they will have full utility as snow tires for at least 4 winters and probably 5. So you can "amortize" the investment in rims, tires and mounting/balancing costs over several seasons.

By the way, I love that sign in your Michigan beach picture! Does that mean a bunch of Moscovites moved immigrated to your neaighborhood?
At that beach, we "selectively" help those who may be drowning. We use the marginal benefit vs. marginal cost analysis before engaging in any rescue efforts. If you pay no beach association due, you don't get help.

"amoritize" -- now you're speaking my language. Did you order yours online?

I'll stick with my $29 tires from Discount. They're fine.

LOL.

There are specific reasons why I have no desire to move to states like Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, etc. I can't list them on here.

Ryan,

Yes, I bought them here:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=155%2F&ratio=80&diameter=13&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&x=83&y=7&RunFlat=All

But they were $28 each the first time I bought a set. If I had acted a week earlier back then.... they were only $25 each.

Thanks, horn.

I have student loans to pay off starting in June and I drive a Metro. So, yes, let me go out and buy all premium parts for my car, from the $20 NAPA Gold air filters to the $4.50 premium gas, to the great AP34-23544-PJY-485 synthetic oil that i SHOULD be purchasing. etc. lol

Depends on the topic. At the top, go to "Forum Home", then if it's mechanical-related, go to "Metro Tech", then at the top, click "New Topic"
