Well, when you get a job someday, you'll be able to actually own a car, Coche. There's no reason why you don't have a job. Fast food places are always hiring. |

I have two already. I don't "own" them because I'm not 19. |

what does being 19 have to do with owning a car? you can not register it but you should be able to "title" it unless your state laws are different. you can also "co own" it. |

I owned my first car when I was 16 too, lol. A '96 Mazda 626. Damn I still miss that car. And, of course I had a job too! Edited by Ryan, Nov 11 2010, 01:12 PM.

I don't rightly know. It's in my dad's name, you can't enter contracts until you're 19 in my state. |

owning a car is no different than owning a watch. there is no contract that I am aware of. you hand over cash you get a title. Odd rules. I will have to check my states rules too they might also have things as silly as that on the book too :-) I got my jeep at 16. now I did put it in my mom's name but ONLY because it costs thousands less for insurance doing it that way (I am a safe person so she did not mind at all) but I could have put it in my name without issue |

yea there is no contract unless bought from a dealer, making payments, having a loan etc.....now if you have the title with no lien then it is yours unless the title is in someone elses name. now most peopled do put it in their parents name to save on insurance.....but they also have the power to take the vehicle away whenever they want, or even sell it. If it is in your name and you are making payments on it then they can't. also if it is in your parents name or someone elses but you have been making payments on it for so long (and have proof) you can go to court and get it put in your name.....im not sure how that works, but I remember reading about it somewhere. |

Haha. I live in michigan as well, and this will be my first winter with the metro. Just have to remember to keep up on the underbody washing...I think.

It DOES work (underbody washings). My first winter, and half of the second winter, I got home and washed underneath with cold water everyday (only took less than 10 min). When I stopped doing that during the third winter (last winter), the rust started forming like no other. Salt eats these cars like more than candy. lol |

How do I go about washing the underbody? We'll probably have the hose stored away for the winter, and I'm not sure if I want to buy a Super Soaker to get the job done... My original plan was to get a car wash every week (at least) but when I went to the automatic wash the other day it about ripped my mirrors off! I was thinking possibly one of those pesticide dispenser thingies?
