Well, my wife and I bought an '05 Altima SE-R 6 speed for her to drive. It has a MPG guage and tank average readout. I drove it some and had a BLAST trying to see what kind of MPG I could pull off. I am a hot rodder/cheapass that can't leave anything alone so I started looking into what I could do to make it better. This lead me wondering what was the ultimate, money saving, FE, cost effective, badass machine in the world! After a very short search I knew 100% I was looking for a Metro, found this site and signed up!!!! After a long and VERY frustrating six month search(almost gave up) I found what seemed to be the last nice Metro on the planet and brought it home. I found everything I wanted to know right here and got some help from some very nice people. So today, I love my Metro and I am having a blast learning more about it and how to make it better at what it does. I have met some great people on here that have helped me out a TON for free! And when everyone is not buisy helping with a question I love BSing with everybody in the lounge and pics/videos. I am not going anywhere!

GA Geo

I was looking for a cheap car that's good on gas for my work commute and remembered a Metro that a friend had. Googled Geo Metro and there it was. I like this forum because there is lots of technical info and members are always willing to help. Also members vary from the young to young and heart and are a lot more down to earth and friendly than on some of the other car boards that I frequent.

I was looking online for a picture of a black metro like mine.
Google images had a picture of a metro with the 'geometroforum.com' sticker.
Now that I think about it, I wonder which member's car it was.
Who wouldn't want to stick around here, if they have a metro?

Just searching for geo stuff and when I typed in GEO I saw in the auto complete bar "geometroforum". So I popped in and have been in and out for about 9 months.

I bought my Geo with no engine in it (pieces) but it came with a Chilton. I installed a JDM engine and was looking for information on other forums. I took criticism for wanting to add ram air and other stuff to my Geo. Then Johnny Mullet started up geometroforum. My first post says:
"I have watched, with pleasure, Johnny Mullet's forum creation for some time and benefited from his knowledge of all things 3 cylinder and more. Time I joined, eh. You've seen me on TeamSwift. I believe in independent investigation of truth. I have recently experimented with a catch can, acetone and ram air. I actually kept the ram air, except in winter. So one of my motto’s is; it's not right or wrong, just different. Along with my MTB club motto: if it's stupid and dangerous we'll do it."

Stayed? Well, first post, first day, six welcomes. I haven't been criticized for experimenting or trying something different and I believe in supporting others. Then a long time ago, far far way, Johnny invited me to moderate, I'm honored, and so this is also my "other job" since I work part-time, and can devote a lot of time to our forum.

I paid $400 for a 95 metro 3 door hatch 3/5. Once I had the keys in hand I went home and searched google for "Geo Metro Forum" I figured they had The Galant Center for the Mitsubishi Galants, Eclipse and Eagle Talon's so why not a forum for Geos lol

Thanks for sharing your stories. Here's mine:

I was seriously considering restoring inexpensive cars for sale, and one of the candidates was a Geo Metro. I googled "buyer info geo metro", and JM's buying guide came up. I was impressed by the wealth of information and clarity of writing - That may be the most helpful webpage I have ever read. It certainly impressed me. I said, "I've got to see what else these guys have to say." I spent so much time here, I figured I should join.

This forum is really why I have my Geo, not the other way around. :thumb

I had been looking at one of two cars for my commute, and it came down to the Metro and Aspire to suite my needs. I found two forums and joined to learn more about each car from the people that use them, fordaspire.com was the first, and I figured if there was one named like that, there should be a similar one named for Metros.

Sure enough, this one was at the time at the top of the Google search page. I scoured it for 5 or so months till I finally got the car I have today. I remember JM being slightly surprised that I was one of his more active members and had not to that point even owned the car :lol

Needless to say, I did find the Metro before a suitable Aspire, and have been here ever since.
