Hi everyone,

Anyone have some pictures of what the A-arms look like on the Metro? Per forum advice, I think I'm going to grease these guys down in the hopes of staving off future rust. Gotta know what to grease down first, however. Any pictures would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

It's not the A-arms themselves that rust out, but rather the frame "horn" section that the A-arms bolt up to.

Here's a good picture of rusted out frame horns from PA.metro:

Greasing or oiling the exterior will only do so much though. To be really effective, you need to get oil inside those horns. There is already a small hole on the front of the horn a little ways up that could be used.

I'm learning. Slowly, but surely.
Thanks, Rooy.

Are these horns on the back part of the Metro, as well?

No, there's no structure like that in the rear. Not to say that the rear control arm mounting points can't rust out--they can--but the fronts will probably give out long before that.

So you think oiling is not as effective as painting? How are you going to paint inside the frame horns?

Everything was painted at one time on these cars. That sure held up. Oiling is effective because it creeps into all the seams and lapped panel joints.
