Lived with Bootsy Collins in a shared rental house for about a month. He was just off a tour with Funkadelic and still thought everyone was going to wait on him like a star. Told me to get him a beer one night when we were both sitting on the couch watching TV. I looked at him as if he was from Mars (not much of a stretch) and said as long as he was getting up anyway, he might as well bring me one too. I think some realization set in and we got along fine after that.

I met Boosty at a birthday bash for James Brown in Augusta. He was pretty friendly but did seem (out there).

I used to pump gas for Dan Gurney while he and my Dad chatted. My Dad owned a Texaco gas station in Costa Mesa, California in the 60's. "Gurney also won races in the Indy Car, NASCAR, Can-Am, and Trans-Am Series. Gurney is the first driver to win races in Formula One (1962), NASCAR (1963), and Indy Car (1967)." -wiki/Dan_Gurney

Seals and Crofts (wikipedia.org/Seals_and_Crofts) lived in SoCal, I got to spend a night at Jim Seals' home as part of a Baha'i Faith youth group. I met his brother Dan Seals (England Dan & John Ford Coley) at an informal discussion and later we had breakfast in Nashville one morning while I was on a cross country bicycle ride. He showed up in a little red Karmann Ghia and brought a guitar. Years later I introduced him to my wife and some friends after his country concert. Really nice people.

While I was deployed to Iraq in 2005, Jesse James and his crew from Monster Garage came over and built a HMMV. They selected a few Army guys and a couple of Air Force guys to assist with the build. The guy from my section managed to miss doing something with the torque converter in the transmission so about all that we saw that thing do was start up on the jack stands. I did manage to get a picture with him as well as talk to him a little. He seemed really down to earth for the most part.

Naw, kidding. I kill the threads. But go ahead and take it personally. :lol

Hey, it's Friday Night!! The only snow cover is West of the Rockies and north of Arizona. If I were in some habitable place I'd be out doing something (before it snows permanently) rather than sitting here at my computer with you cej93, nice person that you are. :thumb

I guess that's the beauty of living where I do.....no chance of getting snowed in. Of course there is always the chance of getting blown off of the map by a good size hurricane :)

Dan Fouts lived up the street from me in Del Mar (I was renting a hovel beach cottage as starving student). This was while he was QB for the Chargers.

Didn't see him much, but his dog barked at me *every* time I walked by his house!

--------

Ryan Stiles shops at the same grocery store I do, been in line with him a couple times.

Ok, I got nothing! :)

I met John Mullet once. He worked on my car! I saved the old pistons and expect them to be worth some money some day. :)

I used to hang out back stage with the band Shiny Toy Guns. I knew some of there family personally but once the Chad, Jeremy, and Mikey kicked out the lead singer Carah Fay I lost touch with the band. Kinda sad. :(
