Please just call me; "Schultz"

I had dinner with Harry Chapin when I was around 11 years old.
My brother dated Mary Chapin Carpenter for a few months while he was in high school. My parents invited them for dinner one Saturday.
Being so young I had no idea who her father was.

A couple years ago I shared an elevator with Richard Gere, He was filming in the outer banks and my wife and I had gone there for a weekend getaway.

In 1995 Donny Most was in Norfolk for a Broadway show. He and his driver got lost in the north end of Virginia Beach, they stopped at my Shell Station so I could give them directions.

My Great - - Great grand uncle was President James Buchanan.
I never met him though.

Why you Mutt!

OK...I used to manage an electronics store (part of a nationwide chain) on Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, CA...across the street from the Chinese Theater. This was about 20 years ago.

Bo Diddley was a regular when he was in town...buying parts and pieces,

Sold a small recorder to Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake and Palmer),

David Jones of the Monkees shopped for a laptop (but didn't buy it...)

Marianne Faithful (Mick Jagger's old girlfriend) bought some stuff...

Bob Barker (The Price is Right, Truth or Consequences) bought a couple portable radios, one for use in the garage when he was working on the car...

I managed various other stores...at various times I had as customers:

Jerry Mathers (The Beaver), Larry Storch (F Troop, "The Monitors") and David Drier (Congressman).

Oh...and I've shared a beer with the wife of David Ossman (Firesign Theatre).

There have been others celebrities, but this is a good sample.

Fastest Hampster EVER

My exwife used to perform in Branson, MO. She sang for Jim Stafford ("I don't like spiders and snakes") and Tony Orlando. I've met Barbara Fairchild, Marie Osmond and some of her brothers, (Donny was a jerk to my ex). Tommy Overstreet is a great guy, went to a concert with him in Delavan, IL. Barbara Mandrell, smoked like a train and has a turkey neck. Stood in line at Walmart with Mel Tillis. Freddy Fender was a nice guy.

When I was postmaster of a small town outside of Branson, A fellow lived in that town that sang "One toke over the line", Micheal Brewer. Jimmy Rodgers lived in that town also. Very nice guy. Sang "kisses are sweeter than wine" and was in a few movies in the 60's.

Being around these folks just makes you realize that they are just regular people who are in the limelight. Sometimes that limelight gets to their heads and makes them "not good people".

The best entertainer I ever met was Tommy Overstreet. As a kid while playing games with my folks we would play his records. Great times and good music. Twenty years later Tommy Overstreet is in MY house practicing for the concert in Delavan, IL. He was so appreciative for letting him use my house. I was in hog heaven to have a star in my house. Great guy and a free personal concert. :D
