I finally tried lubricating the locks just now (at 2AM!) and yup, that was the problem. The key now turns all the locks. I probably should have checked that first, but I was lazy and trying to diagnose everything else that is wrong with the car first. As for what I used, I had a can of PB Blaster on the ground in the back yard next to the car so I just used that. I stuck the tip of the key in to open the shutter that protects the lock and sprayed away. Sure enough, it worked. I also found that the one lock I hadn't checked, the passenger's, was the only one that still turned. I guess my next move will be some graphite lock lube to do it the right way now that I have loosened it up. Edited by Jim-Bob, Dec 3 2010, 02:10 AM.

Most people just do not think about lubing the locks. I was having trouble with the hatch lock and though a little lub might help. I have been using silcone spray on my locks. Bill |
