Who do you show the most respect, why?
Who do you show the least respect, why?
What makes you gain/lose respect for someone?
Etc. Feel free to rant.

(I mean for this to be about people in real life, not online.)

Respect is earned typically.

Some people say wait so your nasty to everyone till they earn your respect? I say NO there is a difference between courtesy and respect.

Courtesy is granted respect is earned.

If your disrespectful to me or disrespectful to others you lose my respect.

On this subject of Respect, I have to say this: Pickup and SUV and Luxury Car Drivers all have a Lot to Learn about Respect, particularly GIVING it. They need to learn that the roads and highways don't belong to them alone. When they Tailgate a Geo Metro or a Chevrolet Sprint, they aren't doing anybody any favors or making the world a better place. They are just making asses of themselves. Talk about retarded mentality. And about Respect, if you buy a Pickup or SUV, you aren't granted respect automatically. No. It just doesn't work that way, at least not with me. You have to give respect to others before you get it. I don't care how much Horsepower you have and how Big and Burly you are. Respect is Two Way, and should be treated as such. No One out here is "Better than Another" just because of what you drive. I'm Sorry but that's the way I feel. I chose to drive a 3 Cyl. Geo Metro for many reasons. Reasons that many people just can't and won't understand. I just wish people would respect other peoples choices on the part of what we choose to drive. What Ever Happened to Freedom in this Country? That is such a distant memory and that's real sad, nowadays. That's my 2 cents on the Respect subject; take it for what it's worth. I hope I speak on behalf of my fellow Geo Metro/Chevy Sprint/Suzuki Swift owners and hopefully they all can relate. I'm back quiet, thanks.

First, well said Nerys! :thumb Who do I respect? Those who earn it. Who do I show the least reaspect? Those who demand it because of their age, title, or social position even though have done nothing to earn it. What make me gain/lose respect for someone? How they treat others. If a person treats others with courtesy and doesn't look down on them even though they may hold a lower social status or have different views than them, they earn my respect. Those who judge others, who look down on them, and basically have no common courtesy and are extremely narrow minded get zero respect from me. What my Grandma always said still rings true today. Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. :D

^^^^haha I love when people tailgate me.....I take my sweet time and try to make them mad. especially if you are driving in a town or city where they cant pass. Reminds me of when I first got my metro. This guy in a big white dodge was a little too close so I slowed down to 50. He immediately just rocketed past me as we were getting close to town. lol unluckily for him there was a cop right there who caught him speeding. I laughed as I passed him

Bullies, Geo Bashers, Male Bashers (feminists) Disco Bashers are all not worthy of my respect. Horn, I want to follow up on your senario. I wish I was that lucky when I went through Ely Nevada. Unfortunately the Nevada Highway Patrol Officer was Prejudiced. He was a Lincoln Navigator fan and a Geo Basher. The Lincoln Navigator who was Tailgating me over Bill Murray Pass on US 6 was every bit as Homicidal. I was on the Brakes coming into town but he would not back off. When I met the NHP officer headon, he pulled ME over (the wrong person and the wrong vehicle) and the Lincoln Navigator Passed me Wildly and Gunned his Monster Beheamoth and kept going and didn't even bother to stop at the stop sign. All in front of the NHP Officer. I asked the Officer about the Lincoln Navigator and his Assinine Demeanor and he came up with this Lame statement: "I always get the 'Lead' vehicle." He Further Incriminated himself by Mispronouncing Ely by saying "E-Lee". (Anyone and Everyone with even a lick of common sense knows that Ely is said E-Lie and Eli is E-Lee. Don't Reverse this or you sound like a Fool.) The NHP officer was Totally Oblivious to the actions of the Lincoln Navigator. I elected to Contest this ticket. To make this long story short, on my Court Date I got lucky and was Acquitted due to his No-Show and couldn't make it. Just goes to show you what we Geo Metro and Chevrolet Sprint drivers have to put up with in regards to Law Enforcement. Apparently Cops have a Lot to Learn when it comes to Respect, particularly giving it. In a Geo Metro, you can be minding your own business and doing the speed limit and Still be Harassed by them for no valid reason. These Days you just never know.

I understand your pain I have for years, however I have driven a wide veritiy of cars over the years. I for one don't drive on others bumpers.
The point is it's not the car it's the tool driving it :shake

Not trying to call you out just saying everyone dose it.

Thanks, Barton. I just wanted to state my story. Again, these days you just never know. Being a Major Geo Metro and 3 Cylinder Advocate, I just get Sick of all the Prejudice and Racism that is directed our way. I'm sure that you all can relate. We Geoholics really need to stick by each other because face it, we're a dying breed. I just wish things were different.

For someone that professes to be sick of prejudiced views, you certainly seem to relate a lot of them.
