I leave my Metro unlocked. It has one seat in it, and nothing else that isn't literally fastened down. Everything semi valuable stays at the house, or in my backpack.

nono the seam is undamaged. it was very easy. I just slide the yard stick between the glass and the outer door skin and slide up and down till I heard the lock click.

Verified the key still works in the door from outside etc.. :-)

alarms and physical defeats work for the non pros. The Lojack works for the pros.

Wish I could say I've locked my keys in my car...the locks havent worked since I've owned it.

Perhaps its time to figure it out and post a guide... :hmm

Please just call me; "Schultz"

I leave mine open as well.
No valuables inside.
Only 2 seats, so no joy riders.
Found out the locks do work 3 years ago at the first GeoPalooza.
I was sweating that when we pulled into the hotel parking lot.

A Lojack does not PREVENT theft.

the cops have a kit in their car to help unlock your car door.....done it too many times to know. they put the wedge in the top, then an inflatable bag, then use a bent rod to unlock the door. You don't have to brake anything and if your town is like mine it will give the cops something to do

I took a spare key and drilled the hole out bigger, 5/16 or so. Then I tightened it down behind my license plate placing the bolt through the hole in the key. A screwdriver is a lot easier to find and cheaper than a locksmith.
I do the same thing but I use the bolts with a big slot for a flat blade screwdriver. You can use a dime or penny to loosen the screw. I never carry a screwdriver on me but I always carry some change. I almost never lock my doors and leave the keys in all my vehicles. I live in the country. I have big dogs and plenty of ammo!
