Don't you just love codes people.... My neighbors are cool about me having all of my cars and the others I work on but I still usually have to deal with codes every year or so. I worked very hard to pay my house off. It is 100% mine but the codes people will pull up in my driveway, walk around my house, and find stuff to bust me for. That is one thing that gets under my skin. Some random person telling me what I can and can't do with my place.

I got tired of the hassle and bought 12 acres on a dead end dirt road in Alabama. Perfect right? In your dreams. But I have to give them credit they are way sneeky. Dude says" Hi Mr G Looks like you have 12 cars. Tell you what we can do. Please apply for Salvage yard permit for 1/2 acre, Fence it and you are good to go" OK Sounds fair The permit is 300 dollars. They busted about 5 or 6 six of us at the same time. I was ready to go pay my money and be done with it, A Man down the street says Dont do it. They will take your money then deny your permit and being you have admitted that you have X number of cars they dont have to prove anything. Next step is a fine and notice to clear your property. So you wind up paying 300 bucks to screw your self. Damn it :( :( :( http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Oaken+Lane,+Seminole,+Ala&sll=30.421309,-87.216915&sspn=0.26645,0.43602&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Oaken+Ln,+Seminole,+Baldwin,+Alabama+36574&t=h&z=16

That's because YOU DO NOT own your property free and clear. you ONLY own the limited revokable priviledge of staying their. IE your a tenant. Look up fee simple title. That is what you have.

what you think you have (and do NOT have) is allodial title.

Do you think I might have already figured that out? I have been around a long damn time. I can assure you that many of the changes that have occurred in the last almost 70 years have not escaped my attention. :deal :deal :deal

That code enforcement crap didn't get all crazy like that until after Hurricane Ivan......I am thinking you live down near where my Dad lives. He lives over kind of near the Navy base.

You are correct on both counts. I live about 2 miles from the front gate of NAS near Bayou Chico, very close to Patti shipyard and Genes Lounge. I was born down on K st, I moved to Seminole for about 12 years then after my Wife passed away I moved back here. Code enforcement is very powerful here. Complaint driven. :banana :banana :banana

Billy, use the 'smoke and mirrors', just like that famous magician David Copperfield. After all, if he could make the statue of liberty disappear, you could do the same to 12 cars :lol

That was basically how we got into the autowrecking business iin Vegas back in the early 70s. It was a hobby that got out of control. As long as we had it. It was like living in "Never Land for Guys" LOL
