Peanut butter should work well. Just slather it on the length of the car. |

The pinstripe eraser disc is great, it took off pinstripes, old foam tape residue and everything else that was NOT painted onto my car, it does not harm the paint, it feels like a big rubber eraser. Dunno how it does what it does, but it works. 3M also makes one. |

I haven't tried it yet but I've been told to chuck up an old valve stem in a drill and see what's up. I did the fingernail, blade and heat. '92 model doors and hatch came clean. Fenders and quarters were different story for some reason. |

I have one of those eraser wheels and man they are the shit for removing pintripes. I would try this method first as its the easiest way and works the best. As for them being painted on Id doubt it, mostly the more expensive cars have them painted on. |

true dat.. i use them at work all the time... but it only works for plastic types of pinstripes, and 2 faced tape. If they truly are painted on... then yea its gonna be a long one... you'll have to wetsand but be prepared that if you wetsand them off your gonna have to re clear the panels that you wetsanded. because the factory clear coats are not thick enough to withstand UV rays after a good cut and buff job. it'll look good for about 2-3 months then start to haze over recommended grit to use.... 1,000 but like someone else stated... if its under the base coat... yea your screwed And ya never know pinstripe jobs back in those days where cheep... ive seen them on just about anything... crown vics, chevy trucks, just about anything... some dealerships had profesional stripers work for them and would have them do them to the cars real quick with regular old cheep single stage paint instead of buying the crap on a roll... witch aint cheep either. |
